Elia did the arrangement as well? delightful and touching performance. I am sure that Joan must be proud of all his young musicians, but clearly Elia has a special talent, . This one is a pure delight, she caught the soul of the music so well , I liked the pizzicato introduction, thanks for posting it.

Ma-dre-mi-a Elía, madre mía, se me han puesto los pelos como escarpias, ¡qué belleza de interpretación!, ¡qué sonido!, insuperable. Mira que me gusta esta canción, pero Elia la ha llevado a la GLORIA. Esta mujer se va a comer el mundo del jazz, sin olvidar la guitarra nítida y profunda del Maestro Traver, esa magistral batería y el, como siempre, el sublime contrabajo del MAESTRO. Enhorabuena, juro y no exagero, que se me han saltado las lágrimas.
Desde Buenos Aires, Argentina, agradezco la hermosa interpretación de este tema compuesto en honor a la poetiza Alfonsina Storni.

There are many versions of this song on you tube including a great vocal performance by Mercedes Sosa but of the instrumental versions this one by the Joan Chamorrow trio with Elia Bastida is by far the best!

I’m a musician myself, currently still studying, yet for some years now I haven’t feel much about music or anything at all which I find particularly sad.. yet this beautiful rendition brought back so many memories growing up and actually made me cry. I thank you all for that.

This made me realise that although I had listened to the CD constantly since the Luz de Gas concert on November 27th, watching the recording of this song was SO rewarding and emotional that it took us all to another level entirely.
I have to say that I do miss the DVD's of the all CD's for the past couple of years, as they put another perspective on this awesome project and show the whole world what Joan Chamorro is achieving (rather than just hearing it). I would love to see the DVD's put back into the mix and would be more than happy to pay for them. The feeling of actually seeing these young jazz musicians producing such wonderful music is just not there with only the CDs and although TH-cam is great, to have the DVDs to watch whenever we wish (and lend out to friends) is so much better. It also helps people support and encourage the programme.

I had decided to be content liking the comments of others -- and then came the waves crashing down upon the poet about 2/3 of the way in -- and then I noticed that Élia was responsible for the arrangement! I'm going to have to start looking up more superlatives. (By the by, Alfonsina Storni is a wonderful poet, too.)

Boy, Elia can sure play that violin!!! I have the cd, "The Magic Sound of the Voilin," and you can really hear how very, very good she is. I think this tune allows you to hear her talents as a violinist. She has a great musical career ahead of her!!!
