Thorndike’s Trial and Error Learning Theory .
American Psychologist his experiment with Hungary Cat in Learning a Task of pressing a Lever to open the door of a cage in which the cat was put to reach out the food Fish which kept out side of the cage.
Initial trail the cat has done more unnecessary movements and after long time it accidentally it pressed the lever with it’s Paw the door of the cage was opened. The cat reached the food Fish. And it’s hunger satisfied. In subsequent trials the taken were reduced gradually and errors or wrong moves were eliminated. Finally the Cat has learnt to press the Lever to open the cage door .
From above experiment Thorndike developed Trail and Error LearningTheory.
From above Theory he developed three 3 Learning Law which have tremendous impact on Teaching, Learning Process.
Laws of Learning
1. Law of Readiness
2. Law of Exercise
3. Law of Effect

@@Momslove-AA 3 Laws lo law of effect more important, if we observe in Thorndike Experiment if there is no food at outside the cage cat may not have learnt the relation ship between the Lever and door opening. another example if there is no DSC who will prepare for TET or DSC ? so the law of effect is more effective than remaing two laws. thank you for your response.
