Sir as of now there is no reservation in lateral entry. Even if they want professionals, they could get them from existing format of UPSC because many Doctors, Engineers, IITians, Agriculturalists,etc from different backgrounds have cleared UPSC successfully, such officers should identified and utilized efficiently. Moreover when a contractual officer are taken to higher posts their chance of corruption, misconduct, misutilisation of powers can be observed. They might be used as weapons to clean up frauds done in their tenures as these officers service ends in 3 -5 years along with their tenure I power. So there is less accountability, less Responsibility and high chance of irregularities.
It is quite unfortunate that generalists like IAS officers heading Water resourcrd ministry, power sector, science and technology etc. Lateral entry-level is an attempt to do away with this kind unprofessional approach. The opposition stance merely on the ground of petty reservation is deplorable. Government also have to ensure proper personal selected through this system instead of showing preference to ideological bias.
Why don’t you talk about reservations and your views on them especially on creamy layer of reserved categories and their eligibility to attainment reservations in different fields , and what about one student get admitted into professional undergraduate courses and again having eligibility to take post graduation& super speciality courses with reservations ?
You should tell what is really happening through lateral entries. This is way they are appointing RSS BJP ideology, BJP supported corporates people. Theory is good but you should see reality. Instead of telling theory only you should have also told what is reality practically hidden agenda of the BJP and RSS. Reservations also targeted same time Their supporters are placed in all main key positions

Ratings are based on alumni, professors , the value addition to the world based on their work . If you want to blinded by politics , I can’t say anything . But it is pure common sense that London School of Economics , Harvard are the premier institutes of the world in terms of their contribution to the field of economics. On top of that , JNU doesn’t even rank in top 10 colleges for finance in India
