“ Souls in the wind must learn how to bend; seek out a star, hold on to the end”. Those lyrics have been very dear to my heart since I was a little kid in the 80s and 90’s. My mother had a lot of anger issues due to an abusive relationship. It lasted for several years and the courts eventually took us kids away. Even then I wished my family could be normal.
Luckily we were able to live with family members, but because it happened so quickly we moved from my grandparents to my aunt and uncle‘s place. After that, my mother got custody of us again, despite her anger issues still lingering, and I lost my little brother to a car accident. My then step dad was all about fun, but not being a father figure or devoted husband. His drug habits didn’t help any. If not for my aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents, I would not know anything about true love, myself, or my place in this world. Without them, my mother would not have been able to turn her life around.

RIP Judith Barsi; I'm sure she would have loved this version. The reason I bring this up; is cause the song was originally a tribute to her as she was murdered by her own father before the move was released. She was the original voice of Ducky; she was murdered when she was 10.

Not actually flat, but the upper range in the middle of the song seemed harder for her to reach. She did fine by the end of it with those similar notes.
