There are three things I found out through trial and error that are the easiest to fix as a push mower owner: 1) The drive cable has broken; 2) the drive belt is worn out or broken; 3) The wheels which are attached to the gear box are stripped out. I found out in my situation the latter was the problem after replacing the drive cable and drive belt. I kept tightening the cable and checking the tension of the belt. But if you look inside the tires attached to the gear box, you will see it is cut like a gear wheel. When these wear down, all the drive does is tear out all the plastic over time so the tire can only be pushed - not kick in and pull.
Yes, Bob! Same situation here... chunk of mulch devoured the plastic portion of the pulley
What size is the belt
Silent movies strike again 😨😨😨😨😨
Could this be the problem with my mower not having any power. The rear wheels move when in the air but on the grass I have to push it. Or is it the cable that connects to the handle? If it’s that, do you have a video on replacing that?
Thanks !
