This gentleman was the one who conducted my ablation surgery in 2007. He is highly professional and skilled. Thank you again sir!

@Lorrie... EMS once clocked my SVT at 239 bpm and I was no youngster at the time, maybe 60.

I was told I had SVT when I was a few months old and I still have it to this day and I’m 18. It happens most when I’m laying in bed but is also triggered by food types like potassium (bananas and stuff) or caffeine

That's interesting and counter to what one would expect, that lying down and electrolytes would actually cause rather than help the condition. The caffeine makes sense though.

Caffeine from coffee. Ice tea dont think so. Weird cause tea has more caffine then coffee.

Medicine has came a long ways! I developed a fast heart rate out of the blue. The cardiologist suspected it might be SVT, luckily only sinus tachycardia. Just super uncomfortable, I’m on meds to control that. I really feel for those with SVT.

Mine always happens when I’m exercising.

I'm 71. The first episode I had was when I was 15 and it was while I was playing a very demanding game of handball. The second was when I was 16 and it happened again during a basketball game. Those were the only two that ever occurred during exercise. Now I'll get them pretty much at rest. Had an ablation 12 years ago but it wasn't successful. I've tried all the maneuvers to stop them but have found that doing an abrupt shoulder stand has been very successful. I don't like taking meds everyday to prevent an SVT that may only happen 4 times a year. My heart rate goes up very high when I get them. EMS clocked one at 239 BPM. That's about as fast as an SVT will get.

hey rich, also 71. had my first at ten while swimming, m.d. called it p.a.t. i was on and off ineffective drugs until i was fifty then stopped the med route. however, january i had a xtra lengthly and difficult episode and mentioned it to my md and now have seen a cardiologist that is advising ablation. i too prefer going w/out meds and am considering the surgery.
(the shoulder stand is a new maneuver for me- i’ll try it next time.)
good luck to you (you are the first person i’ve “met” w svt).
