Good news about World of the Dark Crystal, it looks like it's getting a reprint in early 2020 from Insight Editions at a reasonable price! Know what I'm reading next year.
I read the book when it first came out--before the movie! It was the only publication at that time that named the planet Thra. I was surprised it wasn't in the movie.
I have some (if not all) of the Kindle editions of these items. I have the read-a-long book with the record! I've had one as a kid, but it was lost in a flood. I managed to find another one on Ebay.
I never saw the movie until a month ago. I remember the movie being on tv, but I was little. All I wanted to see was Kermit the Frog if I was going to watch something by Jim Henson. I loved the movie and I loved the Netflix series as well. Now I’m a Dark Crystal junkie! I can’t get enough of it now.

So far the Age of Resistance comics are 30 trine before the Netflix series and not sure about "Wisdom" yet. Thought that one sounds like it will just be quotes from Aughra and not necessarily a story. But I do plan to update this guide in November when those other books come out.

Also, Age of Resistance won an Emmy, but that doesn't mean anything. 🙄 Does anyone know why Netflix cancelled it?

I watched the Netflix prequils and it was beautiful so i watched the movie and i still wanted more so now i am collection every single piece of the dark crystal
As disappointed as I am that Netflix cancelled season 2 of Age of Resistance, I recently decided to basically learn about Thra history and some things after. I was going to get the sequel graphic novels, but it seems like they're new stories with possible little to no connection with previous characters. I wanted to know what happens with previous characters from Dark Crystal after the movie. I bought two of the book series books related to Age of Resistance at Barnes and Noble, because they only had 2 and 3. I ordered 1 and 4 on Amazon. Today on Barnes and Noble I ordered the complete collection in hardcover for Creation Myths. It has all the volumes for the graphic novels or comics. It was $42 and change with free shipping. I looked at the individual ones and they people were charging too much so I thought this was a better deal. I kind of want to get Novelization in hardcover, but the only recently priced one I could find was from a seller on eBay.
We don't know what happens to the characters of Age of Resistance yet... the YA Novels by J. M. Lee do give us more details on some characters... I really need to do an updated version of this video.

I was born in 1984 so the movie first premiered before I was born and I actually didn't watch it until recently and rewatched it after rewatching the series, in case Netflix removes it completely. 🙄 I do hope they put season one out on bluray or DVD.
I bought the Creation Myths Complete collection instead of getting the all separate. It looks like its 256 pages but all 3 separate comes out to 308 i think it was? I'm debating if i should cancel the complete book and get them all separate instead if im really going to be missing out on 52 pages more or less. I guess i could also always just have the complete book and then get the other 3 but that might be a lot of wasted money.
Does anyone else suspect that "J.J. Llewellyn" (purported author of "The World of the Dark Crystal") is actually a fictional character? Seriously, he has nothing else in his bibliography, and nothing in the book written by him is "out-universe". If so, he'd be the only confirmed human in the Dark Crystal universe. If anyone has a twitter account, perhaps they could ask Froud for a quick confirmation of this theory. It would be nice to have it in writing.

I know it's canon now, or at least I assume it is, but I really dislike the post film material and especially the name, Age of Power. Why Power? The Skeksis, the ones who craved power, are gone. If Jen and Kira learned Anything they wouldn't want to rule over an Age of Power. Anything would be better. My personal preference would be Age of Truth.
Ya, there isn't anything DC that isn't canon. But I too am not a fan of anything after the film... both stories rank in the bottom two out of all DC material. As far as the name, at the end of this film the UrSkeks tell Jen that one of the things they did was "restored the true power of the crystal." and now they are tasked to "Make your world in its light." So, with that in mind the name makes sense, it doesn't have to mean a tyrannical, or evil power. BUt story wise, bleh

The Age of THE Force maybe. The Age of Force would just make everyone subconsciously think of the Empire. Why not the Age of Light? The Age of Hope? For my own head canon I am going with The Age of Truth, for that best fits the era of the true power of The Crystal of Truth IMO.

The UrSkeks were trying to get home we just find out more about that, in that they were exiles and needed to be purified in order to get home (though that is hinted in World). And as far as the shard, that chamber has many tunnels so it isn't improbably to think that it bumps up against a mountain side, an intra-cavern one, i suppose.

Is nothing sacred to thieves? I mean, obviously it takes no talent or brains to do rap but rap set to the dark crystal theme is sacreligous and gross. Rap and hip hop has destroyed and bastardized the music industry until it is unrecognizable. It used to take talent and charisma to be a famous musician. Now it just takes being a minority and a little luck.
It takes no talent or brains to do rap? You obviously know VERY little about hip-hop music if you believe that. Listen to an Eminem or Jay-Z song and try coming up with even 10% of what they can and then tell me that it takes no talent to do what they do. Yes, nowadays most rap music is shitty, buts thats just because its become pop at this point. I feel like you've never even given REAL hip-hop music a chance but just mindlessly repeated what you hear other people say about the genre and you should know what youre talking about before you go around spewing absolute nonsense.

Yes, nowadays most rap music is shitty, buts thats just because its become pop at this point. I feel like you've never even given REAL hip-hop music a chance but just mindlessly repeated what you hear other people say about the genre and you should know what youre talking about before you go around spewing absolute nonsense.
