Honestly, at Townhall 15 I don’t mind putting the robot dog on the King. It keeps him from running outside of the walls when you’re trying to have the king smashing entire compartment. I do concede that that is a niche use case But it does still have its uses

Yak & RC is also a very good combo... makes way through out the base and ground troops can easily enter into the center of the base making 3 star easier.
Well for me I run healer puppet so no need to upgrade the unicorn first. The owl and warden are always way in the back so no need to upgrade the owl. I want the upgrade to the pets that are in the trenches. The lassi is that for me it tanks for the RC. Anyway, It is not a huge deal since I run hero potion in all wars thus all 4 are maxed and in regular attacks it doesn't matter as I am just using sneaky goblins to get loot and do not care about stars lol
using hero potions feel cheating bro 🤣 imagine when you boost all your heroes and troops but you fail to get the 3 star, that was pain and embarrassing 🤣

please dont leave the pet upgrade slot rmpty though, if they are maxed just upgrade the one you need more (if rc is weak upgrade lassi, if king is weak upgrade yak)
This is true. If you have the de and the time to do it then upgrade something even if it is lassi or whatever. We also don’t know if supercell will add some cool effect to lassi or the yak down the road that makes them completely OP so makes sense to upgrade now after you have maxed out the pets you are certain to use.

It is th14 focused but personally I actually would place all th15 pets above lassi and the yak. The only one that comes close is Frosty as the yak at level 15 can make a case for being a better option. Also the poison lizard is very situation dependent but can do amazingly well in those situations. Lassi though….poor lassi…I don’t see any use case over any of the other pets 😂

Yes! If you are staying at th14 then all the pets are completely fine and are actually fun to use. It’s what I used at TH14 for 15 months or whatever before th15 was introduced and I enjoyed them.
I would argue that upgrading both those pets to max at th14 is a far better investment than their heroes since the abilities have been stripped from the heroes. Look at the RC as an example vs LASSI. You get 600% extra DPS (90 vs 15) & 530% Hitpoints (900 vs 170) for only 12% extra DR cost (1,340k vs 1,200) if you invest in LASSI instead of the RC at th14. And you get that in only 30 days if you use raid medals (200 each) to buy pethouse potions. The RC costs 30 days also if you use a hero book (from silver pass) on 1 lvl. Yes LASSI may not be as good as a high lvl diggy or spirit fox, but a lvl 10 lassi & lvl 25 RC combo is far stronger than a lvl 1 lassi & lvl 30 RC is. In fact you need your RC at lvl 37 before she makes those kind of increases herself. As for Diggy, you need to then use lassi when upgrading it. Diggy requires 36 days of upgrades at th15 (if you use potions), so you will need a good alternative for the RC during that time as well.
For me it’s always from the perspective of strategic rushing. So I’m only going to be at TH14 for 2 months and when I look at what pets I will likely be using at TH15 and 16 then Lassi and the Yak are not on that list. If I were going to stay at TH14 for awhile or wanted more short term power then you are definitely 100% correct. Ultimately though it’s pain now or pain later. And with strategic rushing I’m pushing through the pain now and not spending any de on pets that I will not be using later. 🙂❤️ Thanks Chewie
As a current TH14 (roughly halfway through), I've been prioritizing the Unicorn but I'm also gonna max all 4 of the starter pets. Yes they're nowhere near as good as the TH15 pets, but it's good to have them maxed since they'll be swapped in while the TH15 pets are upgrading. A level 10 LASSI isn't as good as diggy, but it's better than a level 1 LASSI
Haha this is true and an interesting perspective! I’ve always been a huge fan of playing in whatever way works for you so have fun with it! Pets aren’t near as influential as hero equipment for example so you can do well overall no matter which pets you choose to max.
