Shout-out to Ine Lanckriet, the head coach of BEu24 coaching the Dline and making a huge impact on this game.

Yes! Apologies for not mentioning the fantastic job Ine is doing as well as Valerio, it was late at night when I finished this video but I'm kicking myself for that mistake!

Hey mate. I didn't see the game. There seems to have been a good few pulls that went out. Did this seem deliberate?

I can't say for sure but I did wonder, after all Belgium shut down their brick play so consistently, why not

Offense needs to treat this like a clam zone, stop holding the disc looking for downfield cuts to develop and just start dribbling/bouncing a lot to change the point of attack. Eventually the "poachers" get caught flat footed or wrong sided, and you can flow for at least a few passes around the hole.
Also crucial to have some success doing this early on, so the D feels "kept honest" and is constantly worried about overcommiting when clogging the throwing lanes. Otherwise you become too predictable on O and they can just start keying in and shutting down everything bc they know what you want, and you're not looking for much else

so what is this attributed to? lack of coaching? lack of practice.. as usual.. US/Canada tends to be at a handicap when pulling best players from across the country since the travel distances are quite large to gather players to practice.

I think it's a lack of appreciation for the idea of team defence / surrounding vert being a sustainable and advantageous tactic, and thus a refusal to train it / train against it / change their offence. Some players/coaches have an unwavering faith in vert stack being able to be tweaked to beat any defence (except zone), and see anything which isn't zone and isn't strict 1-to-1 as 'poaches' (and poaches can be beaten...). Truth is that it's just the first offence which was popularised in the sport, and it's taken this long for defence to actually adapt to counter it.

@@FelixUltimate Might be worthy of a video of the separation of stylistic differences played between NA club and whats being played in the rest of the world..

I doubt it - the ultiworld package is good value if you want to watch a few games though!

It obvious that Canada has better players. Canada's problem is their strategy and coaching is just soooo good it makes you lose against an inferior team. Canada has and has had a coaching and ultimate philosophy basically for at least 15 years. Great job Belgium teach us Canadians how its done
