I have never really cared much for beauty lighting, but you are changing my opinion about that. The video on the Stella pro S lighting and other shoots I am starting to see the light. Wow! Those Stella pro were the cleanest, purist, clearest light that I have seen. The size and price are fenoninal.
I recently discovered your channel. I have learned a lot from you, thank you so much for doing the equipment how to's. I am beginning this hobby and sound advice from experience goes a long way for me. 😊
I recently discovered your channel, and I'm loving your photoshoots. You do make the whole process feel so effortless. And this model… she's just lovely. So spontaneous, natural, full of energy. All the best for this new year! Cheers! //Rick
Thank you Rick. When I first saw her she was a timid, shy and less then confident young girl having her hair done at the salon next to my studio. I approached her and asked her if I could take her picture for a billboard ad and after that shoot she was a new girl. She’s come out of her shell so much since then and is just pure joy to be around.
Those photos look very stylish and majestic. I think I want to try the reflector now. Came out amazing😁Looks like the model is likes the music your playing because she's so animated lol. It would have been great if you put the lens, f-stop, shutter speed, exposure level, color temperature, and levels of the speedlights on the photos thou.
Love your videos, very instructive. Give a little bit more time to show what's wrong with the first shot. As an experienced photographer, you see this in a second. People who can learn from your images might need some more hints about where to look. Explaining the before / after a bit more in detail might help. Definitely a great concept to show that you do not need 5 studio flashlights with 6ft Octaboxes to shoot impressive photos. All that stuff fits easily into a backpack.
May I politely ask why it seems you are averse to using a light with a diffusing modifier such as softbox or umbrella? It seems you are intent on reflecting light off that reflector, which as you noted is a pretty hit-or-miss way of working. With a softbox you can actually plan / envisage exactly where you want the light to be, the exact direction and proximity to the subject, and you can make really subtle adjustments to the angles to get the perfect light. If you want to benefit from bare flash (no idea why you would) as well on the other side, then just add another flash and dial it down a bit. Perhaps I missed the point of this video? I do think studio photography can be interesting (although generally far more boring that portraiture of a person in a descriptive environment), but the small lights you are using, and the lack of decent sized modifiers, seem to really cheapen the look quite a lot in my opinion. I don't wish to offend so please take my words at face value and ignore them as appropriate :)
You can’t offend me - too old for that any more. 😂 I’m just giving people who don’t have all of the gear available to them options to play with and practice until they can buy the gear they want. And for me, photography is light, so the more I play with different techniques the better. I personally love hard lighting - I like the shadows more then the light.
Well I do appreciate your opinion. And yes, I do have some overdone and flat images. Can’t argue. (You and my daughter are on the same page sometimes). But I do get a winner once and a while.
@@kaskoPhoto but black and white pics will look good in that light setup. And im sure after some edit on lightroom. Pic will pop up just that if we are talking about right on camera.. Maybe some adjustment to the light here and there will do.. Just an opinion... Keep shooting bro. Regards to ur daugther she is an awesome. Model

Beauty lighting is a wide term with a beautiful person 😂 but it really can bring out features that would otherwise be lost
Beautiful model beautiful lighting beautiful results ❤
I'm glad the TH-cam algorithm is working in my favor. I just discovered your channel. I'm hooked already.
Thank you. Glad you’re here! Don’t hesitate to chime in or rip me a new one if I need it.

Interesting technique!
Always fun to try different techniques
happy new year to both of you
Thank you. Hope yours is an amazing one.
Hi came across one your video. Found it very informative. Looking forward to be checking out more of your content!😃
Thank you. I hope I have something to offer you with my other content. Thanks for commenting.
So helpful to see some of the shots before the lighting was properly aligned, as well as after; thank you!
Very welcome. It is fought with the silver and/or smaller parabolic umbrella.
Excellent photos, love the look. Hope the tooth isn’t too bad. All the best.
😂😂 it looks so much worse then it is. But I will just avoid mirrors until it’s fixed.
Com'on you can set up the Lastolite in under 90sec. Best invention in photography. I own the translucent version, which works great in sunlight.
Those clips! They hurt my fingers!! But I do love this thing.

The model… she is that animated at a memorial 😂😂 and all the other stuff - I agree but thats so much work!
Thanks for the tips
Thanks!
You’re welcome
I own the the lasolite, and the flex arm, what else do you use to connect the flex arm to the light stand?
Just one of those mini clamps.
Great videos. Just courious what camera & lens are used?
It was the Leica M11 and the 50mm Summilux

Very good advice and I agree 100%. Thank you. I will definitely do that more.
Funny girl to work with 🎉

you photos will be much better with that window light there. with al these flashes.. ur photos look dull and harsh. just my opinion.
