- Just a quick overview and thoughts on my wife’s 2022 Specialized Fuse 27.5. This bike is in size small and has had the MicroShift Advent 9 replaced with a SRAM SX drive train and SRAM NX cassette. Is this a good first trail hardtail? My thoughts on the video.
There aren't too many reviews of this bike, so thanks for taking time to share. This bike can now be had under $1k, so I'm still debating whether to pull the trigger.
I will have to post an update on this bike, it’s gone a bit burlier. I have somethings I’m planning on doing yet so hopefully I will have it complete by the end of the month - spoiler, you can throw a lot by way of upgrades on this bike.
I bought one a few weeks ago and love it.
@@markthomas6725 congrats - you should check out the latest video I posted, some serious upgrades were done on this bike and it is even more fun on the trails now.
Sweet ride! I own the 2014, fast and versatile! And fun!!! 😁
Nice just ordered this can’t wait to get it returned a ozark trail to get this
It’s a great platform. I ended up replacing the fork with a Fox 36 150mm, SLX 4 piston brakes, NX/GX/SX 12 speed and 29” wheels. It’s been a solid bike and a real shredder.
@@dayinnymtb nice I will want to get a fox shock as well 4 piston brakes sound great as well good upgrades for sure 👍
Did you get this shipped to you or picked it up at your lbs ? It’s gonna be on day 3 now and it still hasn’t been picked up by FedEx
@@danemoreno88 shipped to lbs, in the future would have delivered to me. FedEx has been awful lately. They recently jerked a friend around with a bike delivery.
Hey there, quick question... When replacing the cassette what other components did you have to replace and were you happy after with those parts? If not, are there others you would recommend when going to a 12 speed cassette? Thanks!
Good question - I ended up putting a NX 12 speed cassette with a GX derailleur and shifter on this bike. With that you can use the factory wheel and hub. I also swapped the square taper bottom bracket for the power spline SX crank and bottom bracket I had taken off another bike.
The bike runs great and I’m pretty pleased with its performance. I also ended up swapping the fork out with a Fox 36 Rhythm 150mm. I plan on some better brakes and possibly trying to see how this feels as a mullet.
Im completely new to mtb and ordered this same bike in a large frame. For the dropper (no clue this was even a thing until now) how are you making that go up and down? Bikes have really changed since I rode 20 years ago.
Hello and welcome to the sport. On the left side of the handle bar is a lever that will make the seat go up, you push the lever and apply weight to bring it back down. I’ve done some additional upgrades to this bike that I will have to do an update on. Being new I would suggest riding it as it is and as you learn what you like and would like to improve you can upgrade from there.
@@dayinnymtb Thanks! Its been great to get back on a bike.
just got my wife one of these, and I've never had a coil fork. Out of the box the fork is pretty sticky.. is this normal for a coil fork? I feel that there's just a lot of friction from the wipers on the stanchions. any suggestions?
I don’t recall there being excessive stiction on the XFusion. Could be an issue with your particular fork. You could try applying some WPL fork lubricant and see if that helps. Ultimately, I ended up out a 150mm Fox 36 Rhythm on this bike. I’ll post an update soon.
…..I was gonna order that particular bike until I seen the “pink” you added, now gotta decide on another color!
Ok
Hahaha, this blue does lean more on the girly side, but I'd rather have this color than the matte terra cotta.
@@bidibee808 ya just weird dude’s life choices changed because of a little dash of pink 😆
