It is hard not to be jealous of the time you invest in building, repairing, fishing, hunting, tying flies, etc. Your abilities and experience seem to know no bounds. tnx Paul, gotta do what you gotta do. This is my sisters quad, she had lot of problems with it all typical of the Cat 400 but seems to be running fine now. I'm a Honda guy! less trouble ahaha
that would probably be your solenoid: maybe no power going to it; ignition could also do it!Try putting power to the solenoid from battery direct, you should hear a click every time power is applied.
Hello. Was the starter working before you took it apart ? Cause i have a 2012 450 trv arctic cat, my starter works when i have it off the bike , but when i re-install it wont turn the engine..
@@hunt4fish yes , i beleive the selenoid is fine. I re-installed the starter , did not connect the wires , jumped the starter direct with à battery and it doesnt turn.
i have an electric starter problem too with my 400. when i hold the brake in, and press start, it doesnt turn over or make a clicking noise. its just complete silence. if you can please lmk what the problem is. thank you!
@@hunt4fish yeah, I ordered a new solenoid and positive battery cable. Im pretty sure thats my problem because i also bought a new starter and that did nothing. So im pretty sure thats my problem. Thanks
@@colesonfrieboes4755 it’s the starter if it’s only making one solid click smack that starter with a hammer a few times while clicking the button it’ll turn but you’ll need a new starter for sure I just replaced mine for the second time yesterday on my dvx400

did you check the solenoid to see if power comes through when you hit the start button? and is the starter switch working every push?

u should be able to turn armature with your fingers free; if its binding something not together right!
I am curious what did you use to test the starter after you cleaned it?
12v. boost power pack from CT.

cold be anything. have you checked the connections with meter and the grounds
