I think the show got so much better once Billy came on fulltime. Hes so smart and calm and level headed , it just makes me love the heck outta him.. Plus hes hot asf...
I like how he pointed out that the older digital recorders yield the best results. The retro recorders use older, noisier semiconductors in the front end. That noise is thermal noise from the sub-par semiconductors. Ordinarily you do not want the noise. Today digital recorders are more advanced and thermal noise is very low. This leads me to believe the spirit voices produce a rapid temperature variation that is picked up by the older recorders. You would not hear the temperature variation with your ears. I have heard an EVP picked up by a Zoom recorder...but you have to have very good ears to hear it because the noise floor is so low.
