"looking down at a white page.." thats why the 1st thing I do with all my yardage books is print them out on light green paper. Its sooo much easier on the eyes, especially on a bright sunny day. :)
No one mentioned a laser rangefinder? Granted they don't replace a book for green breaks like at 1:44. But... what would they do about the unmarked places? Take educated guesses?
+equityplus I thought they were as long as they didn't have a slope reader on it. But yeah, I looked it up and they are apparently banned unless there's a local rule allowing them. That's sort of weird because you get the same result from a yardage book as you would a non-slope rangefinder, just slower.
The world of golf is very up-tight about tradition, that is why they will not allow players to use golf carts either -- because that is not the way it used to be back in the days. When money gets in the way though, they look the other way as in the technology introduced into golf clubs to improve ball control/distance and for manufacturers to be able to sell and make money. Granted that they do place restrictions on performance of golf clubs, the golf world tries to keep the game as pure and unchanged as possible without interfering with the profits of the golf equipment manufacturers. You would not want to buy a graphite, titanium something-else alloy driver if professional golfers still used old wooden clubs. Also, even pro golfers would struggle to hit a wooden club so imagine the average weekend golfer hitting one? Sales may go way up in ball sales though from all the lost ones :)
real golfers don't use GPS or rangefinders! and to be honest any dectron caddie or player is within about a yard when using a book and paces. plus, I see players shoot a back hill and get the incorrect number with a laser at least 2-3 times a week.
*They didnt explain in this video....but the GOLFER doesnt carry a yardage book. But all of their Caddies do! so dont think they are just going in blind to an approach shot or anything guys! lol*

LOL. you should see members at private clubs relying on their caddies. a majority of the players their can't even decide if a putt is up or down hill without someone to tell them!
Bubba not having a yardage book is the most Bubba thing
I get the impression that Bubba is very into himself.
Called having a laugh

Pro golfers these days rely too much on their caddy's. They're supposed to be pro's, should do everything themselves, except carry
