When I was a little girl at Purim we had a Purim carnival at our synagogue and my poor little sister was sick (I can’t remember what she had) and she couldn’t attend. Miraculously the Sunday of the carnival she was completely well, I remember being so happy for her but…..no costume as it was Sunday in the fifties nothing was open even the grocery stores oh know, what to do??? Our big brother (all of 10 yrs old) came up with a brilliant idea, Hammens hang man, she wore her black ballet leotard and tights we lived in Canada so all the kids had balaclavas (a hat that was like a hood with eyes, nose & mouth cut outs) the we made a sign with her “title “ Hammans Hangman. She won first place for originality. With what’s going on in the world I guess it might upset some people, or bring some levity we all so desperately need. Happy Purim PS. Your boys are adorable!

Thank you for enlightening this Christian. And BTW your family is absolutely adorable. I wonder what Irish Jews will do, Thursday is St Patricks Day, Im Irish BTW - anyway - thanks
Purim is great fun. Got the hamantaschen supplies and am baking probably later today. Those of us from the northeast are used to some Purims when there was a snow cover.

I keep thinking about your colorful, beautiful Purim cookies you made. I want to make them for my Grandchildren as anything with sprinkles they love……btw my oldest Grandmonster is 19! My “holiday” in March is St Patricks and for our parade ( I’m in a bagpipe band) it was 14 degrees and snowing☃️💨❄️🌬uuuugggghhh
