ang uban diha gijaga-jagaan ra ang sayaw sa atung mga kaigsuonang lumad.
respect naman siguro sa traditional dances ng ating mga indigenous peoples. may ifugao dance na parang naging cha-cha o ballroom. may maranao na wave2 lang ug paypay. dios ko po!
The maskara dancers came from Bacolod just for this. Some dancers came from Gingoog. These dancers are not NY residents but flown from the Phil.
@@El_.5794 i wasn't referring to the masskara dancers, which btw, is not an indigenous dance.
@@yesidothecooking Yes, I saw the Ifugao and the Maranao dances. Well, we really can’t expect them to dance well. They’re not dancers in the first place and most of them are already living in NY. At least they were able to represent their tribe as others too. When interviewed, the maskara dancers were flown from Bacolod. These young performers are students and yes they’re not indigenous but just representing Bacolod. Even Sinulog dancers, they’re not really the student street dancers from Cebu.
@@El_.5794 no, its not really about dancing well. its about respecting indigenous cultures. indigenous dances are rooted in native beliefs and spiritual symbolism. every move, every stroke, every bend has a meaning. here its like cultural appropriation, tokenization. they're not even representing a tribe. its like a mishmash of whatever clothes they think indigenous peoples wear.
ok lang yung mga festival dances because these are not indigenous, eh galing 1980s pa yung masskara tsaka sinulog.
