The Lyman Brass Smith Powder Trickler was designed with the serious reloader in mind, combining all the features that they are looking for. It starts with a static free die cast aluminum body, which is adjustable for height. The base is machined out of a solid piece of steel, which gives the trickler plenty of weight and stability. The trickler also comes with an aluminum feed tube which can be set-up for a longer reach with the addition of the included feed tube ex- tension. This allows it to be used with electronic scales with wider bodies, as well as mechanical beam scales. The large diameter knob on the feed tube gives you added precision and control when trickling powder out of the generously proportioned powder hopper. And finally, it has an attractive powder coat finish.

I just took my cheap Hornady trickler and filled it half way with old bullets then placed duck tape on bottom and it works just great and doesn't slide around anymore

This is exactly the product that I needed on my bench, especially as my existing trickler didn’t come close to reaching anything but a tiny calculator size loading scale. The weight is excellent, and the non slip base ensure this trickler doesn’t move around by activity on the bench, and both the horizontal and vertical reach is beyond compare. I hate to give a positive review that contains a however, but this one does. However, the brass thumb knob doesn’t come close to the diameter of its hole in the body. This is a manufacturing defect as the replacement trickler I was sent has the exact same issue. Clearly, some one at Lyman signed off on the project without ever testing the thumbscrew. That’s a shame as it flaws the perception of a well thought trickler.

Knob gets tough to turn with fine powders. Turning clockwise is the only way to go, otherwise the knob will unscrew from the tube. Wish there was a fix for this problem with fine powders. I’m guessing the powder gets into the holes that the tube passes thru and creates friction. Makes it difficult to use. Needs a fix.
