Nice but i prefer old winbox...!!! In your next video can you go more over issues, faults & bugs...for example, after a update the firewal filter rules not working 100%
I'll use winbox v4 when they add safe-mode and tabs vs menus. The resource panel needs the option to be moved from bottom to top as well. You also don't get the blue highlighting for changed fields before applying. I'm sure there's more little things and they'll get them added before long. But it's ok so far.
Safe-mode and tabs are back which make it much more enjoyable to use. The only thing I can't see now is a list of active windows like what Winbox 3 had.
Greetings Network Berg, thank you for putting together this MTCNA series, I'm along for the ride! Meanwhile, I'm wondering if one could just find that part of the default script that pertains to the default firewall rules and add that back to my first attempt at configuring a Mikrotik hex.. Since the device is now in production and I'd rather not reset the whole thing. I was trying to get an out of band management port set up, one that I can talk to from our work network. We are using the Mikrotik solely for public Internet.
If you go into a terminal session you can print the default configuration by using a /system/default-configuration/print command. If you scroll down just a bit you will find the IP firewall and IPv6 Firewall rules which you can just copy and paste into a text file then edit and copy back into the MikroTik. Just make sure you tweak it in a way that allows and restricts access the way you want it to. Here is what I copied off of my MikroTik: pastebin.com/mH4Fe0mq
You come right at time : I'm waiting for a CRS310-8G+2S+IN to be delivered next week 📦 I expect to replace my actual OPNsense box with RouterOS and find out if it's a good idea 😅

I have been using the CRS310, it is a great device. I haven't replaced my OPNsense box with it as they are intended for different purposes, but I guess you can do most of the things OPNSense does, maybe in a bit more complex way.
Going to write this exam just for the fun and challenge of it. I wish Mikrotik were more widespread in NA. p.s. I dislike the select menu in winbox4. I liked the tabs. One click.
About new Winbox: I don't see import function for managed host list (from version 3.x). Should I add one-by-one? This is really beta, or even more alfa, still.
It does indeed :D! There's a little settings menu at the top right where you can still do things like Zoom in and out AND set it to Dark Mode ^_^ It looks really nice in Dark Mode.
Make sure you are connecting to either port 2 - port 5, port 1 blocks these connections by default (Would also recommend testing with another cable). Otherwise you could try factory resetting the device as some misconfiguration could also have stopped Winbox from being able to connect.
@@TheNetworkBerg Thank you for your response. I tried connecting to all ports from 2-5, and changed the cable, still WinBox is not detecting Mikrotik hAP ac2.
Definitely, there are two ways I can see how you can go about doing that. I will be talking about backups and exporting configs in an upcoming video in the series, although essentially what you can do is 1) Once a MikroTik is booted with the default configuration without changes made access the terminal, either through Winbox, a terminal client like Putty or Webfix and do a "export file=default_config" this will create an export of the default configuration that you can tweak however you want 2) Log into the terminal and run a "system/default-configuration print" and copy all the information into a text file and save it as a script. Personally I think the first option is the go to way, just remember that different models may have different port references so if you want to add things for SFP interfaces or if the MikroTik has more than 5 or 10 ports you may need make slight tweaks to you default configuration script.
Thanks for the video but.... Is this version built for apple fans? Really? For me is not really good and most of all we still do not see the capsman APs traffic activity in the interfaces window.
It even does DARK MODE :D!!! You can get more details and download it on the MT forums:

Nice. Thank You for the video in the MTCNA Course series.. Winbox 4 Beta released today only. I just tested it.. Looks cool
Thank you so much for another great video. I have been following your channel for a long time and have learnt so much on Mikrotik.🙏
your video lessons are awesome as always, please keep on doing them! :)
as always thanks for the wonderful tut. You always on point. I hope when you get to updating extra packages, you will touch on CHR package update.
I love the new interface on winbox 4. I installed immediately i saw a video from mikrotik
your video lessons are awesome
I tested WinBox in Debian 12. Dark mode! Hell yeah! Finally on Linux! They made my day.

Loving the new winbox 💥💥

Sweeeeeeet, playing with LinBox RN.
great as always
holy cow! amazing!
Finnaly I can use winbox
finnaly we have dark mode
Winbox 3 is just fine... simple interface that gets the job done.
What framework is Winbox4 built on? How big is it?

Great devices but you might be going in the wrong direction depending on what your pfsense system is doing - CRS is a switch.
Finally I'll be able to use Winbox on Linux without wine!!!!!!
Nice look but can`t connect via IP adres only by MAC adres And can`t see the routerboards in a other subnet
SICK, linux support finally!!
Finally support for macOS! Now I can put away the Whisky! xD
Is there a way to use multiple different brand wifi routers as wifi access points?
Can't see why not if they support AP only mode. Don't know why one would want it though. A real AP like a Ubiquity or TP-Link one is so much better.
Going to write this exam just for the fun and challenge of it. I wish Mikrotik were more widespread in NA.
p.s. I dislike the select menu in winbox4. I liked the tabs. One click.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll ace it, I also wish MT was bigger in NA and EU

Cool!
Finally! Winbox on macos 😍
sorry if the news hijacked the rest of the content :D
That's nice and all but does it come in dark mode? 😂😂For us that work late😂

YES More Router OS 7
What to do when WinBox is not detecting Mikrotik hAP ac2? Please help

can export the default config as a script?

"yay -S winbox-beta-bin" from the AUR for Arch Linux users
Hi,
Your content is so helpful, but your red moving background is extremely disturbing!
Thanks for the video but....
Is this version built for apple fans? Really? For me is not really good and most of all we still do not see the capsman APs traffic activity in the interfaces window.
Its now MacBOX, heavy and laggy crap
Didnt like the New interface. Terrible to access tabs.
Yeah I think tabs definitely need to make a comeback :D!
Sorry, I really dislike the new interface. The current one is absolutely perfect. This one lacks contrast and looks like a cheap react web app.
"absolutely perfect" - definitely it is/was not.
@@aliancemd only thing lacking is dark mode. Otherwise the interface is very easy to understand.
