Facts! My mom used to do this too. My brother was disrespectful asf yet he’d always get the new clothes, game system whatever. While I got his old hand me downs (even after I got taller than him) and had to basically beg or keep doing well in school to get a new game or toy etc. It was so easy for her to say no to me, cause she knew I wouldn’t say anything cause I thought u WEREN’T supposed to talk back to ur parents. As I grew older I noticed it’s equivalent to a bully mentality. To exercise any sort of minuscule amount of power u have on people u know will prolly take it. Then once I stopped taking that shit and started questioning what she was saying to me then all of a sudden I was the disrespectful one smh. Didn’t mean to make this about me, but I’ve seen this happen to me and so many other people while I’m high school and it pisses me off. Especially once I noticed how it’s basically a norm in society to worship assholes and see the good in them. While having mad trust issues when it comes to people that actually have good intentions. Acting like they’re only being kind to you cause they want something smfh. It’s such a toxic mindset that’s going so unnoticed. Glad you brought it up!
