Careful with the jog wheels. My left jog wheel broke from a backspin. It was essentially my music preparing controller and I only used it live outside my house twice. Super disappointed about it
Hey all. I am using XDJ-RX3 and love it so far. I see you told that it cant mix in key, I dont know exactly what you want to say but I can mix in key with my RX3. All you need to to is analyze the tracks in rekordbox and than all the key info is usable. It shows all the key info and also shows relative key songs to play in set.
You definitely can mix in key on this controller, analyse tracks in rekordbox and also make sure the controller is up to date with the latest software.
I'm also using an XDJ RX3, I've had it for about three weeks and absolutely love it. But I'm using Serato Pro rather than Rekordbox. I am thinking of trying Rekordbox but Im much more familiar with Serato Pro.
Hey all. I own both FLX 10 and Opus Quad. I preffer Opus Quad tough, quality, materials.... all better with Opus Quad. I am resident in a small club where dj's use their own gear. I noticed higher sound quality on Opus Quad, place to put another piece of gear is not available, layout ist almost like cdj 3000.
💯- I own both as well and just the opus quad for the first time this weekend. The microphone is clear, I was able to use the zone mode as well. It’s a beautiful kit. That being said, the FLX is 10 is sleek too.
I really want to try a OPUS QUAD.. upgrading from. DDJ 1000.. love the idea of dumping the laptop and playing straight from a hard drive with no Rekord box. The idea of analysing my music all the time is kinda boring. I’ve been using VDJ for nearly 20 years now.
This is a great comment, personally I just went this week with the XDJ-XZ - what's missing on the Quad like Slip is just some of the things I can't live without anymore as this is quite incrusted in my DJing style and it's basically these little details it came down to. Too bad, though, Quad was my first choice initially, but after about 3-4 months debating on it and getting info left and right online and offline, the XDJ it is and absolutely no regret so far. I have extensively tested both units also before buying, luckily enough and as great as the Quad feels, I felt a wee bit more comfy on the XDJ. Quite glad you are enjoying the Quad though, super design, I really like it!

I love the FLX 10 and didn’t think I would want to replace it, until I used the opus quad. Now I’m sold on the opus quad! I agree with getting something that you can play out with without having to upgrade later.
You definitely can mix in key on this controller, analyse tracks in rekordbox and also make sure the controller is up to date with the latest software.
Nice reviews and advice. You made a good point about jumping from low end to higher tier gear. I better get saving cos my left bass knob has gone wonky 🙈 as you turn it down from 0 it jumps to FULL along the way. I can work around it but it's a pain in the bassbins.
I don’t know with off those two is the better choice. I am hesitating between the Flx-10 and the XZ I want also to use a turntable. It is for a home setup
sorry, i should rephrase what i posted. it will play CDJs but not via prodj link (share drive info via network cable) but will control rekordbox link mode using the network cable to pc/mac.
Man dj controllers have become more harder to choose than laptops imo, i really cabt understand why they make so many controllers with so many missing functions, honestly out of laptops and phones controllers especially the all in one are a headache to try and choose
@digitaldjtips @digitaldjtips well I personally don't want to not use a laptop, but I don't necessarily care to have all the functions that a cdj would have, but at the same time I just want enough so I'm at least not completely out of the loop of what is used in clubs With all of that said I think the Flx10 is almost perfect if they could minus some functions and fit a nice screen in the middle like the theta I probably would be sold, the next best ones I think are the xdj's but the screens could be better, the opus is so big with the lack of functions, I really like the new Alpha theta even tho it lacks things as well streaming as you said should've released with this and a bit more functions I am leaning towards that one right now
Xdj-xz is awesome! I just bought one. I'm loving it. I played vinyl 20 yrs ago. Just picked it back up. I love the fact you can use usb, or laptop. You can play 4 channels with your freaking cell phone. Amazing controller
the ddj-1000 is the reason i left traktor.....for mixed genre and just the layout plus the continuos improvements in software ..made me switch after being a traktor user since the first stanton FS..and still today i dont see a reason to swap the 1000 for anythng else...i have xone mixers and 1200s for when i want my dose of analog and non digital mixing, plus the fact the i sue RB makes me club ready pretty much at any time...
The lack of streaming services on the Duo at launch was stunning, especially because they bill it as a casual, hook up with your friends and throw a quick party ("no wires!"), seems like you might need streaming services for that event........ Also, if you are launching a new brand- you want to impress, not launch something that lacks features of comparable units that have already been on the market for years, just sayin.....
I just wish they make a DDJ RX or RZ with the screen of the Opus Quad and fully standalone. If they ever make that controller, they have created the GOAT. But we all know they won't...
Im opposite to someone commented here about traktor changing to rekordbox. Im using traktor almost from the first version and last weekend ive got a chance to use rekordbox + standalone pioneer (dont remember model, 4 channels, display etc...) I was so excited..you know its clubs standard and Im always need to have my equipment (macbook + S5 controller - btw in my opinion best controller for techno music) and i cant play everywhere because of that...but... ...what a dissapointment that was... first rekordbox on pc looks awful. its just like software from 20 years ago but nevermind...analize compared to traktor its just trash almost every track needs manual adjustment. Im always basing on loops...and loops transport around track is unintuitive and bad designed. ofc Im more and more forced to use pioneer so I must invest in third party software (DJCU) to convert my playlist and tracks (loops, cue points) for rekordbox to use them there. maybe if pioneer was my first enviroment...but my personal preference is traktor > rekordbox so I went from i must buy pioneer equipment goes to...damn im forced to use that sometimes. TLDR; rekorbox not so good :P
@@digitaldjtips imo the only reason why pioneer is club standard is because native instruments wasnt smart enough to make their stand alone high quality controller few years ago and except gear like s5, s8, f, d, x....etc. rest of theirs controllers are just entry level toys.
I just grabbed a new DDJ-800. Manufactured Sept 2023. It works fantastic for RekordBox. Still a relevant controller today.
Wow, really? I thought they disappeared ages ago. Good work!
@@digitaldjtips thanks, I was disappointed I didn't get one years ago and was excited to find a new one

I got mine too. I love it. I have an rx3 too but I am always drawn to the 800. Super quality.

We agree, it is technically top of the pile in those areas.

You can't key shift

Pain in the bassbins 😉
I have the XZ & I love it👍
Cool! Lots do
I think am moving from the RX3 to the Flx10, as a HipHop DJ, in case you are so into scratching.
Nice advice and cool review. Thanks.
Glad to help
I work with a DDJ RX3 and I can't seem to find the history, while at home on my PC it's not a problem, do I have to chance some settings?
I have DDJ 800 since launch and I don't need FLX10, maybe REV5 or just wait for the FLX8
Fair enough, thanks for sharing!
I don’t know with off those two is the better choice. I am hesitating between the Flx-10 and the XZ I want also to use a turntable. It is for a home setup
Decide if you want to DJ away from the laptop or not ever, that is the biggest difference here.
Hi Phil, you made an error on the Opus Quad. Turntables and CDJs can be connected to it, the only feature yet to be added is streaming.
But it doesn’t support Pro DJ Link, does it?
Yes you’ll need a router.
No, I meant no Pro DJ Link, yes of course you can attach them physically.
@@djkeithjustwhat do you mean by router? I am very interested because i have an opus and the pro dj link is missing like mentioned.

I’ve had cds mk3 for over 20 years and time has come to finally up grade .. am undecided between the xz r3 or xdj1000 mk2 .. can you suggest pls?

Yes, that's the big bonus
Which one do you suggest to me? Flx10 or rx3?
Decide if you want standalone or laptop
FLX6 is miss for the price range but is there any other 4 channel rekordbox controller in his price range?
No, there isn’t
Currently the best controllers so far for rekordbox are the FLX10/1000, RZ and 800
Thanks for sharing your view

Yeah, lots of people waiting for that!

Yes, wouldn't get rid of those ever!
What do you mean you can’t key mix on the RX3?
You cannot key shift/sync
I prefer denon. I find them more intuitive and better value for the price
Fair enough!
How does your rekordbox look like that?
Rekordbox 7 beta test version I think. I don't know when they will release the final version to public.
Yes, Rekordbox 7
the best Rekordbox Controller is a DDJ RZ ever
