- Dr. Narottam Maharaj Alreja is possibly among the few people in this world with a unique record - advising Sri Sathya Sai Baba medically and making Him also take that advice! You see, Swami is the doctor of doctors, Vaidyo Narayano Hari as it is popularly said, and it is always He who advises the doctors what to do. However, Swami submitted to Dr. Alreja not because of the doctor's brilliance or medical knowledge. It is the case of the Lord submitting to the faith and devotion of the devotee.

Sai Ram, thank you for this article about Swami's doctor. It reminded me of the day that I was in Kodaikanal and got sick because food poisoning. It was my first time in Kodai and beacause of my diabetes and a heart condition I had to eat on schedule. So I went to the nearest restaurant. There I got sick.
I asked the owner of my hotel to send me a doctor, which he did. There came a very friendly doctor to see me. He knew exactly what was wrong with me. He gave me some medicine and within two days I was better again. The doctor didn't want to get paid and later I heard that he he was Swami's doctor! I was so grateful for Swami's help and of course also the doctor's help. They must have seen Swami's picture on my nightstand!
