This music is as close as you can come to Pure Divinity. It simply transcends and takes us to another word of Bliss. We are indeed very lucky to have the is music preserved for our next generation. My humblest and deepest respectful salutations to the great musical genius .
I know nothing about technicalities of music..But as a music lover i think his sitar produces most sweet clear sounds and emotions ever.As a layman of music if i can realise that i wonder how how critics would rated him..Only a true devotee can render like this...Pronam..
Majestic and unparalleled performance of Panditji who always shunned publicity and lived like a saint! His music will remain immortal and reverberate in millons of his followers. May his soul rest in peace in the heavenly abode of God!!
The High that he attained is but for the fact that He never hesitated to LEARN, even at ripe age: Smt. ANNAPURNA DEVI gave him "TALIM" whereof he grew to some superlative stature. This itself describes Him best!! His later renditions bears the truth!!!
One of the finest Sitarist as well as Musician in Classical Music forever in my point of view.He was just like a SAINT.Always I close my eyes and reach the Heaven to listen his music.Everyday I worship my Lord Pandit Nikhil Banerjee. But too much unfortunate to see him or his concert.
Sadly Mr. Banerjee's music lives lives today on recorded media and and in shards of melody on the sitars of those who spend their time denying even an indirect influence by him. His Sohini is not easily surpassed even my long gone masters. Hard to think that this raag, at the surface exuding gentle love, would also one played in time of war, acc. to the Shastras.
Please notice two legendaries Tabla Masters in these recordings : Ustad KERAMATULLAH KHAN in Bhatyar & Pandit KISHEN MAHARAJ in Adana & Hem Bihag. Most probably Pandit Swapan Chowdhuri is in Sohini.
My favourite song and I love this song and the most beautiful song . My family also like this song and most popular and important with lots of love and respect and special .💞😊
Pt. Kishen Maharaj in Adana & Hem Bihag, while Ustad Keramatullah is in Bhatyar (being this one the very few official recording available of this great master)
The love song that’s got everyone crooning is here. #Tumkyamile Out now!

this makes the music I heard at the darbar festival sound like punk rock 👍 👌🎩

Devine music।। It takes me to another world।।
Whenever I listen music of Samrat Nikhil Banerjee I feel, I am in somewhere else where he is also there, though I am a layman in music world
beyond words

I was just about to ask about the tabla players. Thank you for the info!
A great joy to listen
so lucky to hear this heavenly maestro 🌺
Very very serene and soothing rendition by great Banerjee Sahib. No match.
When Nikhil Da's singing sitar plays...
-- Sohini scintillates,
- Marwa marvels,
- Adana adulates and
- Bhatiyar bristles :)
Beautiful ❤
He is Gandharva... the legend... please watch 11 episodes of this vimeo.com/142302369..... Ravi Upadhye
He Never fails to lift my soul... :)
Nikhil Banerjee is God.
As we all are :)
But we all are yet to prove that.
Trisanku Banerjee "To those who believe no proof is necessary, to those who do not believe no proof is possible."
Mother Saraswati is a belief and nothing else but Pandit Nikhil Banerjee is God
