Volvo ECR 145 EL with Steelwrist tiltrotator, in various grading, cleanup and loading! Pure sound!

  • Helping my brother out, while on leave! Backfilling of trench for high voltage cables, with different grades of crushed stone and materials from the old pavement. The use of tiltrotator makes part of the job much easier than with a regular slopebucket, since the bucket can be turned 360 degrees! Loading asphalt in the end, hydraulically changing buckets to optimize towards the task during the job!😊

Awesome work! Those tilt rotator buckets take some serious skill and you make it look easy. As handy as those buckets are I hate the amount they shift the pivot point of the bucket. Really impressive operating!

I also operate an 145 but it`s the old C model with gen1 Steelwrist. Sure would like to get an upgrade some day. That asphalt looks fresh by the way it sticks together and not just breaking into small pieces. Good to see an upload again and one more thing, you must be from Østfold.

Hi!🙂 This machine is just wonderful to operate, you have something to look forward to regarding how lean and neat the hydraulic have become!😋
The asphalt couldn't be old no!😅 I crossed another cable trench when I started trenching further, so I wouldn't be amazed if it has been layed last year..🤪
Jepp, I am from Østfold! 😉😋
Thanks for your comment and for watching!

It's not that old but old asphalt is harder and easier to pick up. I'd stack in three sheets and save two swings. Everyone has their own style.

    Yay!! New upload 👍😁
The one thing I hate about this type of work is when you spend a lot of hours and hard work putting back the footpaths and tarmac and a week later the gas, power or phone companies come in a rip everything back up and put it back in bad shape, like worse than your rough grade lol. 🤣

Hehe, I totally agree with you! 😅 As the matter of fact, I crossed an older cable trench today myself..🤪 Who knows, maybe those cables were put down last year..🤭
What I feel is a bit frustrating with this kind of work, is all the effort put down, and nothing but new tarmac and some new manholes to show for..😆 I do feel a bit more pride, moving an entire mountain and really making a visible difference on large earthmoving projects!
It's fun to do something else once and awhile though, but this isn't something I would like to do on a daily basis either.. Anyway, it's nice to scrape some rust of old skills before they vanish!😅
Thanks for watching this as well!🤗

I'm re watching for the second time and my god you're like a surgeon with that machine, it's a shame you can't sell your skills on eBay lol. 🤣

@@norwegianearthmovers Haha I'm glad I'm not the only who feels the same way.
Oh dude I know that feeling about looking at a literal amount of mountain rock on a Monday morning and come Friday evening it's mostly crushed or stockpiled somewhere else.

Well, I can't do nothing but to bow and say thank you very much for the compliment! 🙏🤗

You ar definitely not alone about those thoughts! 😄
I get an amazing feeling, when there is a opportunity to amaze others by moving greater amounts of material than originally suspected!
It gives a rush, to see management put more drill rigs and blasters on the rock to be able to keep up, and otherwise people in general who didn't think something could move that quickly 🤪
However, it gives a great feeling to make a tidy and nice grade as well, discovering that people are amazed by these things as well!😅

Hehe, I just hate pants like these, reflecting in the mirror...🙈😅 Always regretting that I put them on when the sun rises, but the alternative to work without pants isn't any better after winter, currently with extremely white legs..🤪😄
However I must say that I prefer jeans when it's allowed😉

Great vid 👍 it looks like a wheeled excavator or rubber tracks would be ideal 👌but you have to work with what you have got 😎

    • @norwegianearthmovers
      @norwegianearthmovers  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you! 🤗 Well, rubber pads on the tracks could be great, but as you say - one must work with what's at hand..😅
Wheeled excavator could be useful with another operator, it's very tough to go from a large excavator on tracks to something as fluid as a boat and do something productive..🤪
Thanks for your comment, and for watching 🙂

@@norwegianearthmovers Have you ever tried a Gradeall. Mounted on a crane carrier frame, ten wheel.Telescopic boom that rotates. No quick disconnect on the one I used. Two wedges and two heavy bolts in each wedge to change buckets. Put the digging bucket on and realise the powerhouse that rig was, unbelievable!
