I swapped in a gotek which is a great add-on and not too expensive.

Cool addition, and it's even better because many improved games and demos have been made over the past couple of years for the Amstrad (like an improved R-Type and Batman demo) but are only available on 3.5" floppy images, the Gotek should make it easy to run these on real hardware. A lot of hoop jumping needs to be done to use that stuff on a stock machine with a 3" drive (or even with a second external 3.5" one for that matter). I know, I've tried and couldn't manage to get them to work ;)

I am building a new CPC from Rob Taylor’s PCB on Tindie.

That's a great project, I really like the idea of building old computers from new parts. There's really nothing like a 8 bit computer made with all new parts, should last at least another 40+ years. The only down fall with the CPC is that they don't make new gate arrays any more, what's your plan for getting one of those?

This device is also certainly more reliable than a tape or disk drive. Thanks for sharing !

That is true and I find that when you have a small selection of games to choose from you tend to play and enjoy them a lot more than if you have every title ever created at your fingertips. It's a great device for testing unknown faults with machines too.

You should know that Arkanoid 2 is actually a multi-load program (something I experienced the hard way back in the day - and I only recently found out). So, while it will start on the Dandanator, it won't go past level 16 or so.

Thanks for the heads up. Luckily I'm really bad at Arkanoid 2 so there is little fear that I'll ever get past level 4. Level 16 you say? Shouldn't ever pose a problem :)
Seriously thanks for the comment, damn good to know.

Hm, what do I need to connect CPC Dandanator to Schneider 6128 with all interfaces which look like centronics in a metal armor?

I had a quick look for you and I've found this adapter that I think is what you're looking for hobbyretro.com/en/retro/edge-adapter-for-amstrad-plus I don't know the vendor or anything about their site or product. I just did a quick Google search. Make sure that it is what you need before buying it.
