That green was the key factor... high gloss over satin just makes sense and should be easier all around. Can always do satin clear ppf. If you do, please actually wait long enough for paint to cure to avoid the very preventable paint damage issues you've had in the past from wraps.

i like that you guys at least tried the satin paint job, high gloss green will still be awesome. also appritciate you guys for being down to do the work. some channels get big and stop doing work and just make it about the cars. love that you guys are staying true to what got you here
In the uk we paint the spray booth walls with a tacky paint coating which holds the dust, then bucket and mop the floor before each paint job…. Filters should be good for 3-6 months
How many coats of paint have you got on the walls by now?
When I used to spray for ford in the UK, we had big plastic curtain type sheets that were sticky and would wrap around the spray booth walls and everything would stick to them. The extractor fan would pull them tight against the wall when turned on and we would change them out every week.
It was the apprentice job to change them out and mop out the booths daily.
You coat it every 3-6 months depending on how much you use the booth then you simply wash off with soapy water and apply a new coat
they could have issues from the air hose degrading. I use a filter right before the spray gun, and a good hose like a Tsunami Ultra Flow.

First time commenting on your vids, I’m a paint sprayer in the uk for bmw and you boys need to invest in an anti-static gun to help reduce the dirt inclusions in the paint. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

It's torque spec marks. Shows if the spec has been changed after factory.

Factory indication bolt has been tightened to correct torque.

Gloss was a good decision. You can see the paint far better, comes across in the video too.
Satin PPF. You wouldn’t have to worry about that crazy clear headache. And like you said it’ll protect the paint too. I think that would be a good option. That high gloss is clean though.

You MUST find a way to make those side rear windows removable. That window/door opening looks amazing without that rear glass. Modify the glass frame so it can quickly removed anytime

Matt ppf is the best way forward. Just dont rush in getting it done. Let the paint fully set and take the car to a shope that does ppf.

Hey guy's I've been noticing that you are kind of struggling pouring paint from those 1 gallon cans take some some 2 inch painters tape lay one across the lip of the can on one side and put another on the other forming a V in the middle of the two at the lip make it is sealed at the lip all the way to the V when you pour the tape will keep it channeling through the V and you will minimize spillage by about 95% .thank you guy's for channel and keep it coming.
This is like a demonstration in fine art, a jaw dropping example of some serious talent

Water the floor before painting so the trash sticks to it. Go see from AMMO NYC, the Porsche 964 video and you will see what’s the best paint job possible. Hope it helps!
They know about that trick, I've seen them do it a few times when they weren't in this booth
It’s a down draft booth so wetting the floor will soak the air filters and trap water under the booth
You don't water down a downdraft paint booth 😂😂.
Water/humidity can cause fisheyes also.

high gloss was the winning move here. matt is novel from factory but gloss shows way more detail! and you can easily wrap it matt so you get the best of both worlds in an easily removable step. love it!

The AMG looks sweet in Gloss finish, good call. I hope you also paint the break calibers too, black or even yellow would work. Please also do the Matt wrap for protection too.

Matte only looks good in one occasion - right after being detailed. Otherwise it just looks DIRTY. Leave it glossy, it looks classy!
Guys you gotta start switching up to some unique colors for future paintjobs rather than sticking to "regular" colors. It really makes the entire build whey more interesting. That green suites the GTS so damn well!

There is a way to remove almost all chances of there being trash in your paint work. Wet the floor down in the booth. That will help majorly with any dust in the booth. It keeps you from kicking up anything that may be in there. It also pulls the dirt down from the air to the ground, and once it is wet, it sticks to the ground until it is dry again. From there do a sweep on the floor - this helps keep your booth super clean also. My brother-in-law has his own booth. It's pretty damn close to yours ... and that is what he does before each paint job. Works a treat. I never see trash in his paint jobs. You don't have to overly soak the floor ... just spray some water over the floor. Get it damp, and you are good to go. Hope this information helps you some.

Static electricity. It attracts micro particles. Comes from rubbing the car during prep. Also from polishing later wondering why it’s all of a sudden dusty. One might fashion an anti static device or a negative current with a ground and attach it to the car. Also cooling the booth may help. A dehumidifier. You do heat/dry your air to the gun, right? An opposite of electromagnetic painting if there is such a thing.

Just use a matte or satin PPF and wrap the entire car. You will have both of what each of you like. Best part is, the PPF protects the paint underneath for up to 10 years, AND when you take it off the paint is perfect and now you get to enjoy it in a glossy look. By that time, you will be ready for a color change, or a different feel to the car. It's a Win-Win for both of you!

Can't wet the floor on a downdraft paint booth!! It has filters in the floor. 100% no trash or bugs is really hard to do. Especially not leaving in the booth with exhaust on to completely dry. Looks like they took it out in the sun instead. Not sure!!
