That interaction in the bar in the last scene there with some of the best TV writing I've ever seen. Just excellent!

Cop Rock was truly ahead of its time. Even with the song "Why Can't a Man be More Like a Woman" Cop Rock was advocating for Trans Rights before it Has a Thing.

Oh please. The song has nothing to do with trans rights. Its a metaphor. Like the song in My Fair Lady-Why Can't a Woman be More Like a Man. That was 1964. Stop trying to twist this into something it is not.

Great show and great characters, great writing etc.! I rarely have any issue with any of the writing on any of the episodes of CR, however, the wife of the police captain being quite that upset would be unlikely IRL; unfortunately (I'll certainly admit that) although I myself am not and have not been a police officer this lifetime, I do know that - indeed, unfortunately, the family life would 2nd - just by the nature of the beast it would have to.
The only fault here might be that the captain didn't make that clear to his wife before they got married - that no matter how much he loved him and how much the family would be important, it would always be a backseat - it would always take a backseat to the force and its people, etc. Not fun but that's the way it is and that should be made very clear to any partner of the police officer - certainly the captain.
As I say though, other than that snag, the writing and performances of the whole series was top-notch!

I hope that guy wearing the pink/salmon shirt during the Piece of Pie song ended up getting a Broadway career, because I love his dancing.
