I watched this movie entirely because I am a movie nerd and it seemed so bad as to be good. Thankfully, I watched it when I was struggling to get to sleep during my divorce. It was rough, but the sweet embrace of every poor decision I've ever made helped distract me from the dialogue. After that, my sus-an membrane kicked in and I went into a coma to safeguard my basic biological functions. Never forget.
@@SpaceIce That movie still lays claim to having the most epic death in cinematic history. Eaten by a tiger while simultaneously being exploded into paste by a landmine field inside of a Roman coliseum. Unbeatable.
In my life there were 2 movies whereby I am the only one watching in the theater. The first was Double Team in 1994, the other was Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever in 2002🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can sum this entire movie up in two sentences: A drunken Spanish man fights a stoic Asian woman in search of his Italian/Puerto Rican wife and their Caucasian son. And literally everything explodes.
It was promoted locally when filming began as the first movie filmed here that actually takes place here in Vancouver. Then the movie came out and we all felt shame.
This movie had one job. One FUCKING job!!! All it had to do was give us a film about Puss in Boots and Viper fighting each other for an hour and thirty minutes with Kitana and Darth Maul in supporting roles. But yet it somehow managed to screw that up and made it a borefest.
I think around 1:03 there was a guest appearance by Seagal when the torturing of a helpless woman was heard on that recording. Mutilating the innocent while sitting down in a chair that can hardly support the weight of his gut is his one core skill.
Fun Fact #1: Lucy Liu & Gregg Henry (the blonde guy) starred opposite Mel Gibson in the movie Payback (1999). Fun Fact #2: The short guy with spiky hair is Ray Park who played Darth Maul in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) & Toad in 1st X-Men movie (2000).
If I remember correctly, the reason why the movie was an overall mess was because there was multiple rewrites, changes in production and the director Kaosayananda was removed from creative control and some scenes filmed were deleted from the final film. Also they were trying to be more like the matrix (I guess in terms of aesthetics????) I feel bad for Kaosayananda cause they literally massacred his project
The Franchise studio really have some bad history making a movie. That's the reason why the studio went bankrupt after Battlefield Earth. Don't get me started on their lawsuit
I met Lucy Liu during filming this in Vancouver. The mall is called "Tinseltown" and it still remains, to this day, a ghost mall that's somehow still opened. It was most busiest when the crew was filming there. During breaks, I was standing off to the side where Flying Wedge was and yelled out "I love you Lucy!" The best thing is I professed my love to Lucy and she actually walked up and hugged me. I ugly cried for 30 minutes. My life was complete. You could have executed me there and I would have had no regrets. An angel already embraced me.
Fun fact: According to Rotten Tomatoes, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever is the Number 1 worst reviewed movie of all time. One critic summed it up saying, “Just go bang your head against a wall for 90 minutes. It will have the same effect.”
Imagine the talent you have to possess as writers, producers, and directors to take Antonio Banderas and Lucy Liu and somehow come out with a completely unwatchable trainwreck...Hollywood you've done it...again.

The film underperformed at the box-office, grossing $20.2 million on a production budget of $70 million. With a total of 119 reviews, by far the most for a film with a 0% approval rating, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever is the worst-reviewed film in the history of Rotten Tomatoes.
