I notice a number of people asking why is it only a Malay and a Chinese who are playing the lead characters. Why no Indian friend and so on. Allow me to state my grouse. After more than 57 years since our independence, is it really hard to refer to ourselves as Malaysians? Watching this video, I see only Malaysians who have stood united to make Malaysia everything it is today. Stop the hate, stop the racism, stop the prejudice. Let us stand as one, as Malaysians united.

that indian boy went to stadium merdeka with his father, if u watch the previous episode this merdeka video before this one, the previous one show that the the indian boy woke up early morning, took a bath, hope on on his father's bike, and they went to stadium merdeka. For this video 2014 merdeka day, it is a sequel

I always impressed by the videos from Petronas. As always can be seen before any festivals like Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, #Merdeka and more. The way the video conduct is enriched by the meaning and theme about Malaysian, and they never fail to express the true Malaysian spirit. Well done, in this video also marking their success journey for 40 years. Congratulation and Happy Birthday Malaysia!

This is a beautiful video, but our ppl has been quite sensitive recently. "Y is my race not featured in this ad?" is the question I see here. So I guess in the future better not portray message abt 'multiracial' if they cannot include all the races of malaysia in the video to avoid arguments. Happy Birthday Malaysia. Merdeka!

Basically the indian boy on the bike wif his dad was an homage to an earlier merdeka ad featuring a very similar indian boy wif his dad riding a bike to the merdeka square (it was released a few years back, youtube it lamebrains). Sometimes everybody just needs to chill. How can we aspire for a harmonious inter racial life when we couldnt even appreciate the spirit of this advertisement?

Great ad, save for one historical inaccuracy. There were no TV signal on the September of '63. TV broadcasting were introduced later on 28 December 1963.
