  • Letchworth State Park is one of America's Top State Parks (USA TODAY Readers' Choice Award for Best State Park in the United States). It is referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the East". Letchworth State Park in Autumn or Fall is one of the best times to visit the park.
    Letchworth State Park is one of the most scenically magnificent areas in the eastern U.S. The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls (Upper, Middle & Lower Falls) between cliffs--as high as 600 feet in some places--surrounded by lush forests.
    Autumn is by far the best time to see Letchworth. New York trees turn majestic colors in Fall ranging from red and orange to gold and yellow. Seeing the gorge adorned in color is something everyone should enjoy.
    In this video, take a tour through Letchworth State Park in Autumn. We will take you past the Seh-ga-hun-da (The Vale of Three Falls) passing the Three Sisters (Upper, Middle and Lower Falls). Your tour will stop at all of the major overlooks including Inspiration Point, Archery Field, Humphrey's, Great Bend and Tea Table.
    The video includes bonus footage of the lower cascade of Wolf Creek call the Shower Curtain Cascade.

    Beautiful. From NH and when I think of parks in NY, I think of the Adirondack's. Will have to take a ride.

      It is totally worth the ride. It has been voted America's top state park several times and is called the Grand Canyon of the East, but really pales in comparison to the actual Grand Canyon. Letchworth has a ton to offer visitors.

      @@benmacmillan1323 There is plenty to explore in the finger lakes region. Some of my favourites so far are Watkins Glen State Park, Harry Treman State Park, the town and park at Canandaigua and Bristol Mountain in the winter months. Perhaps some vineyards and Butter Milk Falls park will be on our list next visit. Enjoy.

      Ticks should not deter you. The gorge trails are very wide and worn down. Many of the overlooks are paved. Be sure to check out my tips for hiking with ticks: th-cam.com/video/QX9lqQQOwyI/w-d-xo.html

    Very nicely done. Did you have to get special permission for the drone flights? I’ve done a couple of state parks either in the spring or in the fall after the season is done. Nobody seem to notice or care.

    • @OutsideChronicles
      @OutsideChronicles  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am sorry I thought I replied to this comment. Right now is the best time. It is near peak. You can track the foliage with www.iloveny.com/things-to-do/fall/foliage-report/. It will probably be pretty nice over the next couple of weeks. You will get some color in the end of Oct, but it will be winding down.

      @@OutsideChronicles I was wondering how they are managing the crowds because of Covid. I remember last year, there were sometimes almost a dozen people inside of some of the overlooks... and more waiting a turn. I'm sure people have to wear masks. We will hopefully get to go next fall. Thanks so much for the beautiful video. They are always so much work to produce, but a they bring a lot of joy!
