Class of 2002. We had this weird kid who used to get bullied that kids called "Scary Gary" but after Columbine occurred people actually stopped messing with him. Not out of realizing that bullying is bullcrap but because people were convinced he would copycat the previously mentioned incident.
Then one day the schools head guidance councilor comes on the PA system to announce the winner of the Random Act of Kindness award. It was Gary, who had taken a part time job and paid off ALL of the outstanding lunch debt for the whole school. Including mine.
I had racked up quite a bit cause we weren't well off. Gave him a big hug for which he felt SUPER awkward.
The next year he did it again.
"Scary" Gary, hope you're doing very very well.

Freshman Year a fellow freshman decides to bring a bottle of bleach and piss in it. He thought it would make mustard gas after seeing a tiktok. School had 3 fire trucks, 2 ambulances, 6 police cars, and hazmat. We were sitting at the stadium in 30 degree weather for hours. The kid was criminally charged and given a suspension.

When I was a preteen girl I helped ostracize a "weird" kid, nothing too cruel but just leaving him out of the group (I was at a very small school at the time) then the year after I was in public school and I felt so guilty that I started befriending every single weird kid I came across. The problem I soon discovered was that each and every one of them decided that I was their true love and followed me around all over the school, even got pretty nasty with each other over it. I was a lesbian and desperately told them all that. They did not care lol. So I doubly learned my lesson. Don't be mean to the weird kids, but if you make friends then beware.

I will say the one and only good weird kid I befriended was a little girl at the small private school. She stared at me from around a corner and hissed at me when I looked at her. I hissed right back because what else was I supposed to do, and she followed me around ever since. She became my honorary little sister, and I missed her a lot when I left for private school. I can't even remember her name anymore, but I can still see her little face glaring and hissing at me lol

I was classed as the 'weird kid' in high school because I liked horses (wasn't the only horse girl at school) and I liked heavy metal music (wasn't the only metal head at school but I was the only girl in my year into metal). I got called all sorts of names, got threats against my life and all sorts. For what I perceived to be no reason. I was a good kid. Went to school, didn't get into fights, did my school work. But I was branded the weird kid 🤷‍♀️
Whatever. I'm now in my 30s, I'm still horse mad and still love heavy metal 🐎🤘

I remember in elementary school there was a kid who had severe autism. Not so much the weird kid, but certainly special needs (very nonberbal etc,) but when i say this kid could play basketball, i mean he could PLAY. In the 5 years he was there he never missed a single shot. not one. The most impressive thing was before he would shoot he'd always look away from the hoop. Only after looking away would he throw the ball and it would still go in every time. Dude was incredible.

We had a weird kid similar to Story 15 in 1st and 2nd grade back in early 2000s. Some of us bullied him, but basically nobody liked him. He was truly weird either because of some trauma or a mental condition, I don't know. One time he jumped on a desk and whipped out his dong which was his response to the bullying. Another time he started straight up strangling me from behind without any provocation from me and any warning from him. I elbowed him in the stomach, he let my neck go, I turned around, pushed him away, he fell onto the ground and then I kicked him. I saw a teacher walking by and I went like "Oh be careful, the floor is slippery, now let me help you up". I helped him up, the teacher left, unaware of what happened a few seconds before, then I pushed him away again. One other occasion comes to mind when he bit my arm so hard the marks of his teeth could be seen on my arm for days. I was the idiot there though, because he was threatening me that he's gonna bite my arm and I was like "I dare you!" And he dared. Luckily it didn't hurt that much.

Most of my middle-high schooling was at special ed campuses. EVERYONE was the weird kid. One who hid in closets, one who would lie down and fall asleep basically anywhere (including one time at the back of the school bus, driver forgot they were there and drove off, rest of us lost it laughing after the disbelief that it had happened passed), one who didn't like the worksheet they were given for homework so they wadded it up and ate it on the spot, the list just goes on. "Weird kid did something crazy" was the average Tuesday.

If He Needed To Use The Restroom, I'd Have To Ask The Teacher For Him. Eventually, He Started Talking And I Started To Go Silent. I Had No Need To Talk Anymore. So, He Was Talking And I Wasn't. In art class, we happened to be learning about different types of ways to draw people, since we were 7th graders my art teacher knew that we know about bodies in the not - so - friendly way, so she put on a video about types of art, when the nudity art was introduced, majority of my classmates were pretty immature for 7th grade, and one of the kids screamed “I’m going to be a nude artist!” Half of class laughed the rest died on the inside. it’s always this kid that gets the class in trouble, I always feel bad for my art teacher whenever something like this happens

In university, there was this odd guy that would act really oddly during drawing classes. He would very often leave class in a fuss and "quit" because he just could not draw, only to show up the next session like nothing happened. Once, out of nowhere, he proclaimed he has a porn addiction and promptly threw his phone in the trash, then left. He returned 10 minutes later, grabbed his phone, then left with his things. I was ever so lucky to have him in all of my classes for the next 4 years. Not sure how he even continued attending, as he would consistently not do the work and would even break down in front of everyone. Apparently, he was in the honors college.

We kinda had a guy like that in my high school, except he only wore armor sometimes, and not all the time. Every once in a while we'd hear metal clunking or chains jangling down the hall and go "ah, there goes james."
He was a pretty chill dude who just had a passion for medieval history. All the armor and weapons he made himself, and he even started a sort of medieval battle roleplay club. The weapons used were all made of wood or foam or something, so nobody got hurt, it was more of a LARP thing as opposed to being a real fight club.

I think *I'm* the weird kid at my school. After the pandemic my parents didn't wanna send me back to school for political reasons. And afterwards when I was sent back I was really friendly and innocent which made me an ample target. I remember one day while we were running the mile and I took a break to walk, a guy and two girls walked up to me and told me all about how scary I was in elementary school.
I still don't know if I should've believed them or not, because I don't remember elementary school. By the end of it they walked off saying they were getting "Ted Bundy" vibes from me. I asked them who Ted Bundy was and they said he was a pedophile. Still have no idea who Ted Bundy was. After that I got a death threat from one girls brother and it all started tumbling from there. People started calling me the quiet kid and made constent consistent sexual comments towards me and my friends. Its been a year now, we're all in high school and they never shut up. Sometimes I just cry uncontrollably for hours and just press on like nothings even happening.
I don't trust people easily anymore, and sometimes I do self harmful things just to see if people will care...
And you think I'm lying, don't you?

I was probably the weird kid in my class, though not the weirdest kid in the school. One day, during AP Bio, we were told that we were going to dissect frogs. Now, I wasn't the best student in that class. I wasn't even the smartest in the school. But I was the only girl that was able to complete the lesson on my own without any outside help. Even some of the guys were grossed out and one in particular asked for my help 'dealing with it'. That was probably the best I'd ever done in one of those lessons and I got a lot of weird looks after that.
Another time we were messing around with hotplates in chemistry class and from what I can recall I turned mine all the way up, tore a big chunk of wax off the sample I was working with, and tossed it right onto the hotplate. I swear, the fire alarm went off and we got evacuated from the classroom, but nobody figured out it was me.

The “weird kid” at my school just wasn’t very nice. I had a few classes with him and would always end up sitting near him and I’d try to be his friend as I knew he mostly sat at the teacher’s table at lunch. But I think he misread my high energness and eagerness to expand my friend group as bullying which wasn’t my intention. But sometimes he was quite kind and showed me Roblox stuff he liked and made me promise to keep quiet or laugh at my jokes but mostly it went no where it didn’t help he’d always look over at my computer when I was scrolling through a comic and someone starts peeing or some other weird stuff like that I didn’t think would happen. He was also just very intense and when he would do stuff with us like play games on field day he took it very seriously so it was hard to have fun. But had nothing against him and because of where we were both sitting during graduation he actually ended up being the first person i congratulated.
I think I tried so hard to befriend him because me and my friend group were the other weird kids at the school. My school had a huge student lounge most of the cliques would hand out at after they eat. Everyone had a table just for them we got the peeps in each grade, the drama kids, even the cool nerds had a huge long table where they took out their gaming laptops each day. Me and my friends sat on the floor near the trash cans and played uno. All the guys picked on me for being weird and faked ask me out and I once almost got voted into homecoming court as a joke. But for the most part as we had enough people who liked us in other friend groups we were able to avoid the worse of the nonsense and got there reputation for being the more drama free people at the school. Because for the most part the real drama heavy people thought we were too weird to talk to and left us alone.

The weird kid in my class would draw everyone a map of an imaginary world he designed for them and explain it as he made it for you. He was an awful artist and made these on notebook paper, I at least waited until getting home to toss it and I did patiently listen as he described it. He also carried a stuffed rabbit named Rebecca. He wore the same 3 pairs of too small sweat pants and T-shirts and had serious body odor and a cat issue at home - to the point our teacher would send him to the locker room to take a shower during class because she couldn't handle it. For a class of 8th graders to recognize it was his parent's fault and not his own for his lack of hygiene (lack of running water) and didn't tease him to his face at least was pretty impressive. We all grew up with him in our teeny tiny school since kindergarten and by 8th grade, while he'd just gotten stranger, we were still polite to his face - though I know he felt the lack of party invites and refusals for a date. He had a girlfriend for a little while, but she was also on the strange spectrum, no developmental disabilities, just oddballs. Wish I could say they grew out of it, but I truly don't know much other than she has an adorable daughter now (not his).

Sometimes, our idiosyncrasies evolve. My plushie became a purse, and my weird hobbies became a career. I'm mostly locked into my current job, because very few people possess the eclectic skills I've developed over my lifetime.
Other times, we're shamed about things to the point that we reject everything of our former selves, preferring to pretend our childhood never happened.

    • @Abutado
      @Abutado 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@dihydrogenmonoxide7056 yeah they can absolutely evolve or hold you back depending on the level of support you experience. My 6 year old daughter will always have a 10lb coat because she fills her pockets with rocks. Not even cool interesting ones (cool to her though), just any rock she deems worth saving. It's gotten to the point I had to make a rock garden to at least keep them out of the house. My 13 and 8 year olds have very interesting art styles, some of which I didn't get initially (I was always more into realism) but they've become so talented and can animate their work and it's amazing, just improving and impressing me more every day - their younger sisters will likely follow their footsteps as they all love drawing. I've seen and felt what it's like to have your quirks ridiculed and shamed and it's soul crushing. Seeing a child's soul getting crushed like that is just heartbreaking and I cannot condone it. However, I also believe in being honest with your kids and to not feed false hope. When my eldest was about 7, she was obsessed with the idea of competing in AGT/American Idol, my husband and I would initially tell her she inherited my voice (as in no). I ended up telling her that I will always love to listen to her sing, especially if it made her happy to do so, but it's a very hard thing to do professionally and her time would be much better focused on other talents. I didn't want to hurt her spirit, but I also didn't want her to pursue something and blindly support it and have her become one of those contestants that are mercilessly teased. She took it pretty well, and now that she's older she definitely recognizes that she did in fact inherit my "talent" for singing (which again, more of a talent for how tone deaf I am 😂) but we both still sing because it makes us happy. I really wish my husband could've passed on his singing abilities because unlike me, he's VERY musically gifted (concerts, choirs, even an opera in his resume).

@@BeeWhistler absolutely! I praise individuality but there are some social norms, like grooming and hygiene, that really should be universally accepted. With that, use whatever hygiene products and grooming methods you prefer, just follow the standard of at least not appearing filthy and unkempt (with some exceptions to your line of work) and not smelling offensively foul like feces, animal waste or severe body odor (again, some career exceptions to be made but you should deal with it before going in public). My husband worked with a guy that smelled perpetually of 💩, like he was straight up going in his pants or something. He couldn't give him a ride with having the windows down. No developmental issues or reasons for this other than just being a very filthy person. I would say this is the one rule everyone needs to follow regardless of your need for individuality and self expression.

@MilkItSoaps Some disabilities come with hygiene complications. I work at a homeless shelter, and we keep a steady supply of adult briefs for the street folk. Since many walk to their destinations, sometimes they can't make it to the nearest bathroom before their IBS or Crone's flare-up. Also, showers are a terrifying place for some of us because they are a place of vulnerability and trauma. Add that on top of neurodivergence and/or mental illness, and the hygiene issue becomes a nearly insurmountable stumbling block for many.

the weird kid is in my math class. he has a satchel for a backpack and wears a floor length trench coat every day. he circles around the cafeteria while looking up and down at his phone while muttering to himself. he makes everybody’s conversation his own, calls everybody the “skibidi rizzly bear,” tells people he’s an npc, and says the weirdest shit. he’s stared at me for minutes on end since he transferred to my school. everybody is uncomfortable around him. he flipped out because my friend politely told him to mind his own business and not to intrude on other people’s conversations. nobody likes that kid

Wiped poop all over the bathroom wall. I was going into the bathroom and the grade 7 weird kid is awkwardly staring with a bag on his back. He darts his head towards me and again, awkwardly says “you go first”. This confused me because the bathroom was empty and had numerous stalls so I didn’t know why he didn’t want to go in the same time as me. I finish and head back to class. Not 5 minutes after I got back to class this other kid in my class goes “Oh my god guys, there’s poop all over the bathroom!”
We get up to look and in clear view, a large smear surrounding a lump of brown poo all over the wall in the bathroom. More on and above the urinals, all over the sink. I never saw that kid the same again. To this day I refer to him as the kid who smeared poop on the bathroom wall 😂

I was labeled the weird kid for liking the sonic franchise and reading manga at school. Seriously…I didn’t even do the more deranged weeb stuff (naruto running, acting like some anime character, etc) I was just a black girl who liked Sonic, manga and a bunch of other “nerdy white stuff” (I’m black, and this was years before anime became mainstream)
And what kinda pisses me off looking back is that there was a class that offered beginners Japanese lessons at my school, and a good number of the kids that made fun of me joined it, I didn’t assuming I’d get bullied…and then got bullied MORE for NOT joining that class…

At my Junior High in the 8th grade, I’m a high school freshman now, There was this kid, I’ll call him “Red”. Red was already considered weird as he just acted weird, not many people liked him. He made weird jokes (Weirder than my jokes, and my jokes are pretty weird) But according to one of my old friends (I’ll call him “Kye”) in 5th period Science class (Same teacher as me at the time, but I had science 7th period)
Kye saw Red JERKING off in the middle of class, some other kids saw and recorded him. I never saw the recording, but within a week, half of the school had heard about it. He was also in my 4th period class at the time, even after that I was still kinda friends with him. I think he just had some issues at home.
But Red would talk back a lot so he would kinda get in trouble and get in arguments with other students but they would make fun of him because of “the incident”. He would immediately go silent after other students brought it up. He goes to my high school now. I like never see him. I hope he’s doing better
Good luck out there Red, but don’t go Jerking off in the middle of class again 😅

We started teasing him with “Imagine if you two do this” kind of talk. He’s getting turned on and we stop. At the end of the class, it’s time to get up and leave, and he’s refusing. Turns out he had JO while in class and his load was completely all over his pants. Looked like he pissed himself. We never let him live that down.

Honestly if he's this good without training and gadgets, just imagine what he can do when hes older and smarter with a Ghilie suit or similar tools. He'd be able to infiltrate/exit even north Korea without them noticing. Though I don't know what this little country would have to be remotely interesting, aside from a failing economy, a "leader" who's more of a puppet than Pinocchio and being the only country without a worry about refugees because even people fleeing from war aren't desperate enough to go there.

I relate to Story 3 😂 Since Primary i've had this friend whos one of her most favorite animals is horses (but also dogs this is sorta important for the story) she did Horse riding lessons in Primary To! But at break, she acted like a dog and sometimes horses. I played along! Beside that. Shes a great friend! On of my few friends that i know is a true friend of mine! I relate to her. (Being honest when i was younger i acted like a dog and cat 😅) We just went to our first year of highschool. Our other friends started talking about her while she was running about with another friend. They started basicly making fun of her saying 'Why does she act like a dog??'
'Shes acting like a kid! We're nearly teenagers!!' I just kept quiet. Silently nodding tho i didnt want to. And if they asked me if i agreed i just kept quiet. I soon left after that to go eat outside my next class. We've now unfriended one of those people after they sorta started stalking me. The other is still friends with us but we agree shes toxic and mean. But have no clue how to unfriend her. Cuz me and my other friend. Sit next to her in all our classes cuz we were good friends when we started highschool. I could try saying more stories but i'd have trouble wording it and explaining. My school and friends are weird.. Just know that 😅

not "the weird kid", she was actually a bit of a straight-A, studious teacher's pet, and that adds to this story. at the start of middle school, she told everyone she was a princess of some Middle Eastern country. this lasted all throughout the first year of middle school and even got the teachers involved. the first years were portable classes and the teachers were all very tight-knit in comparison to the indoor classes. they would like 100% straight-faced lie to us that she was a princess. I swear they even did presentations on her country at one point but I don't remember.
She once came in with a veeery fancy party city crown and said it was hers. the worst part was that I was very autistic in middle school and was the weird kid (did a lot of shit I'm not proud of.) so when, at the end of 6th grade, when they all said it was a lie, I was crushed bc I genuinely believed all of it. I never vocalized my sadness but it really stung. it was like "Wow this is middle school, kids just can't be princesses anymore." I bet everyone else knew ages ago and probs called her snobby and a teacher's pet for orchestrating all this but I was enamored by the whole show. i was the silent chubby girl who would play alone with a hula-hoop and knew how to roll it away and it would come back to me so who fuckin knows what fantasy land i was living in at 12 where i thought all of it was the truth.

Sure we can look back on those memories when we're older and get embarrassed (I have more than a few myself), but its all a part of growing up and learning yourself better. Don't go getting hung up on your naiveté, you were a child, children are still growing out of it. Some just take a bit longer than others.
