Billlie’s Lore, talent on singing, dancing and acting is out of this world!!
There's this great 2011 anime called "anohana" about a childhood friend group that drifted apart after one of them, Menma, died when they were kids. Years later, one of them suddenly starts seeing Menma as a ghost, unsure if he's hallucinating in his grief or actually seeing her, and in an effort to get either her or him to move on they get their old friendgroup back together to try and fullfill her final wish. It's a wonderful series, the emotional drama is realistic yet heartbreaking, all the characters feel like real and flawed teenagers, and its ending is enough to bring a grown adult to tears. This story, while not an exact match, reminds me of anohana. The melancholy, the grief, the awkwardness an emotions of old estranged friends brought together by a mystery from their past. It may not be as high concept as some other groups' lore but in terms of execution and storytelling no one is doing it like billlie.

Things I noticed
1. Little Haram reading Roald Dahl’s ‘Matilda’ (if you don’t already know is a childrens book about a telepathic little girl who grew up in an abusive household and uses her telepathic powers against her school’s evil and arguably more abusive principal)
1.5. Little Haram has a fight or flight reaction to hearing her books fall on the floor, implying that she has an association in her mind with loud sounds (?)
2. Billlie giving little Suhyeon a plushie of dreamvader, the monster we see at the end of GingaMingayo. This implies that Billlie had a connection to B-side before she went missing and was giving the girls hints(????)
3. Any scene with Siyoon in it, she (as well as the teasers) seems way more distraught about the Billlie situation. I don’t have any theories but it’s clear Siyoon will have an important role in the lore this era

until now, i still can't get the lore/story of their concept but i feel it's this is good and always BOP. BILLLIE IS REALLY AMAZING IN EVERYTHING

어릴 적에는 속마음을 드러내는 데 거리낌 없었던 아이들이 힘들 때 우리를 도와주었던, 그 속마음에 가면을 씌우면서 숨기기 시작했고,
점점 어른으로 성장해 나가면서 어느샌가 이제는 속마음의 얼굴이 잘 기억나지도 않게 되어버린 것만 같고요.
그런데 7명의 빌리 친구들로 하여금 이 B-Side 혹은 속마음을 동심, 꿈, 추억 등으로 다시 구하겠다고 말하는 것만 같네요.
This lore of Billlie continues to give me goosebumps and mixed emotions. IT KEEPS ME WANTING MORE. And I just teared up when it all crumbled down. Hands down to the whole Mystic team!!

빌리의 세계관 영상들을 보면 완벽히 이해하지 못해도 왠지 울컥거리며 눈물 맺히게 하는 이상한 기운이 있다. 이게 정말 내면의 자아를 건드리는 건지..시윤이가 세계관 듣고 엉엉 울었다는 게 이해가 된다.
I can't believe I would've missed this masterpiece if i didn't click to see this video. I gave me chills. I was feeling every moment of this short film. I love girls' acting and the filming, the setting, everything was satisfying as heaven. I felt like i was watching those nostalgic school animes. Reminded me of animes i cried over. Really deep. Thank U billlie. And the team behind them.
I’m also so impressed with how much the little girl actors looked like the members! Even without the outfits it was easy to tell who was who.
The quality and depth of Billlie's lore is truly something else, I'm honestly speechless at how beautifully their backstory has been constructed.

I really admire all the work that is put into the world building, so many times companies will have very vague lore, but here it really is a continuous story line that matches with the groups songs, mv's and lyrics.

One theory that I saw is that Billie Love is the personification of childhood/ innocence/ self-love. They all had their Billie but left it to die for adulthood. Considering Gingamingayos lyrics it certainly sounds plausible

This is just beautiful. it's not everyday that a clip like this puts me in such state of wonder and encourages me to watch multiple times. After gathering my own thoughts and reading some of your guys' comments I've compiled what i think this film is about:
The short version is this is about childhood. But if you look at it more in closely the message becomes more intricate and meaningful. And I'm just happy if i can help break it down a little more for us all to enjoy.
- 0:32 "today after 11 summers since i erased the memory of her" -- this represents the passage of time. 11 years after they were just kids. Assuming that they are 8 in the flashbacks we see here that means 11 years have passed and the girls are approximately 20 yo (at least in the story) and they're just entering adulthood.
- at some point we all reminisce about our past selves and what that's meant for us (good or bad) with some of us having more vivid memories than others.
- when we think about our old selves and childhood we realize how important/ impactful those moments have been and the lasting effect they have on us all. Wether we are conscious of it or not
- the usage of metaphors is important, "... the memory of HER" -- where "her" is herself (Suhyeon)
- 0:08 "your will close after the bell rings 11 times" -- again pointing out time* and how our world view changes as we become adults. "closing" means "end of one thing begining of another" Like when the clock hits 11 you're just an hour away from starting a new cycle. So "11" as a transitory number
- 4:50 Siyoon is about to reveal "Billlie" but she's pulls back afraid what she might see (how past memories could pull at her heartstrings) Like when we remember a happy memory we feel happy. When it's a sad one, can make us cry.
- Billlie could be anyone from a past friend to our past self.
- It's up to interpretation and can be different according to context. I think Billlie in this context is what "childhood" would look like if it was a person and a reflection of ourselves. Siyoon hesitating to uncover Billlie = afraid to uncover herself and the feelings she felt in the past. (the reflection of herself in the water)
- 1:59 the memory box. Like a time capsule that is buried and uncovered years later and mementos that remind you of the past
- sometimes we bury our memories because it hurts too much to think about how sad or how pretty they are. But eventually we get flashbacks and little pieces are uncovered
- The cat mask? because memories can be fuzzy and mysterious like cats
- 8:52 "the world is destroyed and my mature self is born" -- childhood is destroyed and apparently gone "locked away" 0:51 "burried" 1:55 or "sunken" underwater 4:57 so as to make space for adulthood
- 8:34 -- how as we grow our innocence gets shattered and we see how harsh the world can be.
- 9:06 "i will go rescue you" -- but like Siyoon realizes here, that part of our selves that is innocent is always within reach to help comfort us when we need it most. help us view the world with fresh new hope.
- 10:02 -- door unlocked for whenever we wanna visit/ hug our past selves.
- 10:56 "i found you, my Billlie" -- in the end the girls are in peace with themselves. Them knowing their childhood is theirs forever.
