Thank you for the shout out Josh. It was a frustrating filter. Good video man showing the depth of tool investment needed for proper mechanic work. It probably over 3000$ in sockets. 💪👍🔧🛠💵💰
For USD the dollar sign is before the number. 3rd grade numbers and counting money. Seems people from china and some public schools get that backwards.
Congrats Mr Pew! I wasn't quite fast enough. Fortunately, i just bought a new lunchpail a couple months back. Had I won, i would have gifted to my eldest nephew. Thank you Josh for the opportunity. Dig your work on the channel.👍
I can't believe two guys guessed exactly right. I was 19 sockets off. I definitely didn't think you had them double stacked but fully anticipated multiple drawers and sets. I was surprised you didn't have more large sockets over 1.25". Cool idea for a give away
Dang, thanks for the vid man. Would love a video on your history as a mechanic/how you got started etc. I'm 9 months in my mechanic career at a CAT dealer, always love to hear people's story
STACKING 6-point on top of 12-point to save space. Holy smokes that is brilliant, thanks for opening my eyes to new space-saving techniques for my toolbox!
Man I'm glad I'm a BODY TECH I only need metric 96 percent of the time. That was an awesome vidja of a quality TECHS tools. Well taken care of might I add.
Hey, 2 people got it right on the nose! I was expecting you to show someone else's tool box, like a 40 year seasoned tech with every tool imagine able! Man, that oil filter was stuck! Some goon definitely cranked that on as tight as could be with a tool.
Thanks for watching either way, there will be more drawings in the future so make sure you watch them all. Probably be a jacket giveaway or cups in the fall.
I have multiple drawers of sockets too. No idea how many. We had a family owned trash business so I did a lot of heavy truck. Then I did a ten year stint as a foreign car mechanic too. I had to buy a lot of metric for that. I didn't venture a guess but suspected it was north of 500. Having done both heavy and light work really meant I had the collection too.
Two questions: 1. When you bought inverted Torx sockets, was it just to work on the 7.1? 2. Does the C9.3 have any annoying fasteners? 2:03 I also noticed that you have knockoff battery packs on your Milwaukee drill.
I asked my boss, the OWNER of the shop, if he "had any.. like.. external hex sockets?" He looked at me confused. "Like a six point external socket? No, I don't have anything weird like that!" I laughed, and went back to work. I'm not sure what came over me to ask, but it was funny because he most definitely had regular sockets
I probably have at least that many, and not a 10mm to be found! I actually have a whole box full of various oddballs I don't think I've ever used in my life.. 7mm and 9mm for sure, and then any of the half mm increments like 5.5 and such
I've had filters like that 1 before where it just plain doesn't make sense how they got so tight, the owner swears he never over-tightened it but there you are taking parts of the truck off to fit a 6 foot cheater bar on your biggest screwdriver.
It would be nice to clean that mess up with some TOOLBOX WIDGETS & some of the MAGNETIC RAILS! JUST SAYIN :-) I have so many I'm afraid to count but at the same time it's NEVER a bad thing to have tons of every style shallow - Medium - deep & extra deep Great Channel & content :-)
Had to turn in a tool inventory this past week and I found I have over 500 sockets and just over 1300 individual tools. You don't even want to the replacement costs. 🤣🤣
How do those Cat sockets hold up? I have quite a few sets of them but they don’t get used. I work for a Cat dealer (not as a tech) and got them for nothing
I don't want to count how many sockets I have. Figure 6pt and 12pt. 1/4 drive through 3/4 drive. Wobble, shallow, deep. Metric & SAE. And to think I've had all of my tools stolen before... so I've paid for everything twice.
I’d like to know the number of sockets not duplicate, with all those sets I’d imagine there are some duplicates with no significant difference for use.
@@jaydunbar7538 That reminds me of a fairly young lady that works in parts at a truck and trailer parts supplier and she had gone part way through apprenticing as an automotive mechanic prior to that but gave it up to arm pain issues and had a tattoo of a wrench on her arm. I asked her if that was a 9/16 ... nope, 10 mm !. As she said, both sockets and wrenches of 10mm mysteriously would go missing.

What is your opinion about sunex sockets vs snap on or Mac?
Question, where did you get the cat logo for the bottom right drawer on the matco box?
Wow can’t believe I won! It was just a guess. I added up my own and came up to 450, and just added some more for special ones I knew he’d have
And yes, I emailed you Josh
I saw it, congratulations. I replied to you email as well. Thanks for watching.

You guessed it correctly, but Brent beat you to it.

Nothing gets repaired without the proper tool and the socket and ratchet is the foundation to any repair

I didn't know you were a western states guy! I'm in the Pasco, WA dealer and the Meridian, ID dealer all the time!
Love your contents... Watching you from Jamaica
Congratulations Brent
I've had to pound a big screwdriver into the side of a filter and use it as a lever to get it off for the first oil change on a truck once.
the inverted torx is such a strong and reliable soket and head !!! what agreat feat of engineering
Hey congrats Brent!!

I have 502 sockets, had to go count
Happy Sunday!
Thank you Richard!
I just started as a fuel island technician at Ryder in Manchester New Hampshire
Nice thank you

If you would like to use them just throw them out and I bet you would need them next week.
Cool video!
Thank you.
I've recently been buying cat tools from my local dealer, they are surprisingly cheap to buy for USA made Tools.
I've had filters like that 1 before where it just plain doesn't make sense how they got so tight, the owner swears he never over-tightened it but there you are taking parts of the truck off to fit a 6 foot cheater bar on your biggest screwdriver.
I'm confused. Don't know if I have socket envy or just thankful I haven't needed that many...
No doubt.
Dang! Now I’m gonna have to count my sockets when I get to work tomorrow.
I'm sorry about that.
1:42 I see what you did there lol
I think another cool video would be how much do your tools weigh with the toolboxes or a dollar amount also included the toolboxes.
tool box tour soon?
If you guys want one I'll do one.
Dang it!! How’d I miss the giveaway?!?! Oh well still waiting for u to have the 3406e rebuild giveaway 😂

The wrench junk drawer, must remain a mess or a black hole will form and the solar system will collapse in on itself.
@@AdeptApe It's your story, tell it however ya want! My junk drawer looks just as bad, HELL maybe worse! LMAO
so, what's the diesel mechanic's equivelant of the infamous 10 MM that disappears all the time?

Thank you where you get you gloves?
You don't want them gloves
I only decide to purchase it because it was a tri-axle truck is a 2006 for the coming engine in it
What is the part number for the starter socket the would have help last week when I put a starter on an 826k
I have a question I would like to swap out a c7 for a c9 in a t300 kenworth how close are they to the same size as far as dimensions
Can you do a water pump on a C-15 6NZ?
I certainly can. Don't have a video on it yet though.
Which do you use more, the 6 point or 12 sockets? In the double stack holders, which is in top 6 or 12?
I only use the 6 point, unless it is a 12 point headed bolt.
@@AdeptApe Thanks.
A socket should be defined as any attachment that engages a fastener driven by a square input, be it 1/4" square, 3/8" square, 1/2" square, etc
My brain was tired after counting to 515, I don't want to add a couple hundred more.
Now how about the cost of those sockets ????
Thanks again
ten buck average would get you close,
What every bodies opinion on kobalt tools?
How do those Cat sockets hold up? I have quite a few sets of them but they don’t get used. I work for a Cat dealer (not as a tech) and got them for nothing
They are pretty much the same as Snap On. They are great sockets.

Next tools to be invented are inverted screw driver bits ! LOL.
You never have enough.
To sum it up.. you can NEVER have too many sockets… well tools in general
I’d say jerry performed the worlds most difficult oil change
He. Got twinkish thing going..
Back in my day we lost the 3/8 socket
I’d like to know the number of sockets not duplicate, with all those sets I’d imagine there are some duplicates with no significant difference for use.
And, not one 10 mm in the bunch!
Have several of those, although the only socket I've ever lost was a 10mm.
@@AdeptApe , that's just the joke we tell Ion ourselves around here -- no one can ever find the damn 10 mm socket!
@@ralphholiman7401 my 10mm socket is easy to find, it’s the dozen or so 10mm wrenches that I can’t flipping find…

I have more then I'm willing to count
Everything I have is triple cause I have all the way up to 3 inch deep short and then it's 6 point then 12 point
I think i have around 600 sockets but to be honest i have a ton of double tools
I've never tried to figure out how many I've got. I'd be afraid to think how much it's all cost lol.
The 10mm is always missing.
I hate it when people put oil filters on that tight.
I have 17 sets
Don't John Wayne the oil filter
I would have count every thing 1/4,3/8,1/2,3/4,1” drive
Correct answer.. Never enought
Rigged!! 🤣😁
285
You tricked me I thought your were counting hex torx and so on Oh well I didn’t win the billion dollar lottery either
It probably would have been 800 or something if I counted those. My brain would have melted if I had to count those too.
I am not mechanic but I have over 500.
I’m going to say 525 sockets
You don't need all that bullshit, a couple gator grips and some vice grips and you good.
Mechanic Treasure
whatttttt a socket is anything that fits on a ratchet. that’s why it’s called a socket…
3 ball company
Why did you waist all that money, could of just got a crescent wrench...
Can you do a video of you tool cart
I'm going to do a toolbox tour in the future here probably early fall.
