I've seen the captain of the plane leave the cockpit before they usually block the path to prevent people from getting near the cockpit...it's unusual but does happen

It happens on JetBlue Airlines all the time. Mostly to communicate with depths cabin crew to see how the flight is going and to help uneasy fliers as the co-pilot in the cockpit takes over. I'm not sure if you have taken JetBlue before, but it is tremendous and is the only airline I've been on, which means this summer I'm going on JetBlue again!!!!
It freaks me out sometimes though because I always forget there is two people in the cockpit, not only one
Awesome trip to San Francisco! On our last flight from Hartford to Orlando...the flight attendant got the beverage carts and blocked the front near the the bathrooms, and the pilot came out and talked to the flight attendant for a few moments and then used the bathroom. I also have never seen it before and kinda freaked me out!
I've never heard of the pilot leaving for that long! I have heard that the planes practically fly themselves now a days though, so I wouldn't be surprised if it happens more often!
We just thought it was kind of "against the rules" but maybe we were wrong.
Any time I fly delta in first class I always see it going on longer flights. Usually a flight attendant takes the place of who ever is coming out for their break. So it's not just one person in the cockpit. They push the snack cart in front of the galley blocking it and they will come out for about 15 minutes or so. It freaked me out when I first saw it too. Especially when they were blocking the aisle with the cart I got paranoid thinking something was happening.

It's perfectly normal for a pilot to come out of the cockpit during the flight. That's how they take their bio breaks. Usually it's just a few minutes. The FAs block the aisle and one FA always goes in to the cockpit unless there is a jumpseater already in there. There have to be 2 people in the cockpit at all times in the US per FAA regulation. Also, only one pilot is actually flying the plane:) Watch the movie Sully if you don't believe me. All good.
I'd have a MAYOR freak out if I'd been there!!! WHAT??!!! Get back in there and fly this plane!!!

It was a lot of fun. Got to learn a fair amount about Walt's challenges in creating the Disney empire.
Jones Family Travels incredible vlog you guys! I loved watching😊 have you guys ever seen "Walt before Mickey" it's on Netflix if you have it, it's pretty incredible and also shows what struggles he went through before he discovered Mickey 💫 inspirational film indeed!
We only found out the Walt Disney museum was in San Fran after we left. 😫 Hopefully we can make it there next time. 🤗 Those beach views were stunning and what a great breakfast spot! Always love following along with your adventures. 🤗
