Escape to the largest caverns in the eastern United States! Luray Caverns, VA

What will you discover?
Luray Caverns is the largest caverns in the eastern United States. It is amazing to walk thru the cave to see all the formations that formed thousand years ago. The cave is not for self-explore. They offer guided tour and their guides are very informative and tour is very enjoyable. Luray Carvens admission includes Luray Caverns, Car & Carriage Caravan Museum, Toy Town Junction, Luray Valley Museum.
Luray Caverns is good for either family or couple road trip when you need to escape from all the hustle and bustle of city life. It’s only around 2.5 hrs drive, without traffic, from Tri States area (Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C). As all other attractions, it could be crowded during weekends when everyone is trying to come. If you want to avoid crowd, I recommend to go there during weekdays if you can. I went there on Tuesday for this trip and this was the first time ever I don’t have to wait in line for anything. I’ve been there three times already!
Also, I don’t know how long the deal will be but I suggest to check out Groupon website before you go because it’s a lot cheaper buying from there which is only $32.50 for two adults ticket (Compare to buying at the attraction two for $56.00 + Tax). I"m also recommending to wear flat or comfortable shoes visiting there since you will be walking for about one mile in the cave for between 1hr to 1.5hrs. No matter how the weather is outside, in the cave it’s always 54F (around 10C). If you are like me who feel cold easily, then I suggest bringing some light over jacket.
