      still there are lots of difference in per capita income of many & lots of difference in overall wealth.. tilt towards capitalist policies may make it worst. growth at cost of gradual Poverty to middle class & lower class without achieving socialist objects like public welfare & equitable society & per capita income growth can result in the dangerous scenario for Middle class & lower class people.

    Classical socialist model is not fitting to current competitive market economy at the same time the priorities of our country can't justify to move it in the direction of capitalist directly. Being a researcher in the field of labour economy I must say the balance India has made is commendable and the trajectory towards capital oriented discourse is more contextual and logical rather than haphazard.

      It's a primary economical activity..
      Even in agriculture, in only crops majorly wheat,rice,pulses, vegetables we are in good state thanks to abundance of arable land..
      By agriculture we get development after multiple centuries...
      Give me one socialist country which get successful ..
      We ourselves have known to the bureaucracy, reservation,minority appeasement are all products of it..
      Literally no one..

    Mixed economy is the best option to keep with the competition of markets worldwide.but to maintain the stability,the companies should be imposed with taxes and labour laws should be followed in industries to avoid exploitation of workers.the work of government should be to check the records of the payment of taxes by the company at regular intervals.

    India has never been a capitalist country. Pure capitalism entails equitable chance of competition, irrespective of religion, CASTE, domicile, gender, etc. Until that day, as the constitution intended, we will remain a mixed hybrid capitalist - socialist economy.

      I have a news for you. Equitable chance of competition doesn't exists in US for blacks and other minorities. But that never stopped them from implementing capitalism. Stay away from idealism

      Well Said. We Indians belonging to different sects of Hinduism either being capitalistic or socialist.
      You won't find extreme capitalism in Muslims in India.
      We should ensure to be what's best suitable for our people. For us it's always better to have a hybrid approach.

    The most important thing is that if a country is totally capitalist then there is very narrow chance for poor people to survive in a nice condition but in socialist only poors can survice and others feel discriminated.

    The Government job will Give extra money/ liquidity in the hands of its employees, they will expend more money in the market...     For next 30-40 years we need pure capitalism , till we become a developed country . Once our per capita income reaches 30k $ - 40k $ , we might think about introducing socialist flavor into it .

    Yes no doubt all policies r made for rich with heavy taxes govt is crushing middle class bt giving heavy loans to corporate which r not even pay the half of the loan and become willfully defaulter. Some corporate leave the country after taking heavy loans. Poor and Middle class r giving tax bt most of the money of the country in the hands of few corporates.
