I think it is one where I will love the projects, but feel meh on the value... That is why I have drug my feet so hard on it. I love the idea so much!

Crochet Society subscription boxes are so much better. Lots of goodies inside. Cheaper too.
I really really really liked my Crochet Society boxes. This is different from that one though. I am hoping that in the end this will work out better than month one looks....

The price is killing me... I hate having an overage out of the gate and 11% is a long way to have to make up to break even much less my 20-25% off goal for a good deal...
@@HappyCraftyHomemaker Agreed.... 11% is quite a bit of ground to make up. I have stayed away from Crochet Surprise so far...due to value. Look forward to the next couple to see if it turns around.
I struggle with the value in pretty much all the boxes (especially with the conversion rate & extra shipping 🇨🇦 )but do love hearing about them ALL 😁
I totally agree! For you guys outside of the US, it is bonkers! I wouldn't do it unless it were like Leither or some of the things I have seen from like Southern Skeins. They aren't the best "discount value" but you are buying the fancy indie-dyed yarns. The price after is about what you would pay to just buy that yarn from the states already.

I have heard great things about Cocoa Daisy! I am starting off with Echo Park's club. I have talked about Simon Says Stamp and another cards sub box before on here. I haven't really reviewed what you get and the over all value before.

I am currently making a House Blend knitted cardigan sweater from Coffee House Knits and am really loving that LB Antipilling yarn and mine is in the exact color of aubergine you are showing! Now you are motivating me to get back to work on my cardigan. I just recently found your podcast and love it. I'm generally doing my crochet lately than the knitting I've done for years. I really enjoy your comparison of different yarn clubs. This is one that I was interested in checking out. Thanks for the practical, analytical review. I am on a tight budget and appreciate knowing about that part.
Getting the best price is always an important thing to me. I want my money to have been well spent.

I've been getting Crochet Suprise along time , some months are really awesome. But I have to admit the last couple I've gotten I wasn't to crazy about. But still nice.

Um...going immediately to Amazon to try to find this Christmas in Paris...how have I never heard of this?? Butter mint and chocolate?! Sold. Really like what you got in this box. Just sad the value wasn’t better. Definitely tuning in for the future box reviews. (As always). Lol

@@HappyCraftyHomemaker oh my gosh, yes I love it!!! So yummy!! Shaun wasn’t so sure tea and chocolate mix. I think because it isn’t creamy. Like hot chocolate. But I love it. I made a couple cups with one bag. Lol thanks for the recommendation!!😘

Hi. Excuse me but if you have been asked to do this review then they should not complain. As you said if I like a certain box then I should not begrudge the review. I take Mary Maxim and a sewing monthly. I know what it cost me. I dont do colors well and both keep my hand in it. Tgank you for the review even though I have never heard of Crochet Surprise. I just enjoy your channel. You are in my top 5 channels I watch. Kathryn

Numbers don't lie generally. You can have feelings inform you too but knowing the math is really important.

I need to block it so it doesn't feel so stiff, but it is really pretty. I think I will hold this pattern out for some of my other bulky yarns..

But...I did actually win Christmas in July Fairies from Cindy Hearts...like to fell off my chair! Then I won a mailer pack of tea, blueberry, from Setta! Again, the full retail price is fairly arbitrary - and then - who buys yarn at full retail? So, definitely not value for money unless the subscriber places a value on the "surprise" or "mystery"

I agree and disagree... There are times where even I pay full price for things. It isn't really arbitrary... There is a suggested retail value and you need to know that to see what the discount value for the box is. This box didn't have a discount and I paid more than retail for it (disappointing) but there have been boxes where the over all discounts have been 50% off from what you would pay in the store for the same or similar items. The surprise, mystery and chance to try something different does have value for a lot of people. Sometimes it is great to break free from the "normal" things you focus on..
Hey Carrie so I ended up watching your video twice LOL just to make sure but in the beginning you say the box is 19.96 before taxes and shipping and at the end you say it's 29.95 before taxes and shipping so I just wanted to make sure you were aware of this

I was actually making tea for the day while watching your video and I got to the end and I was like wait did I hear that right or did I hear that wrong so that's why I watched it twice just to make sure LOL I'm glad you're able to pin it so that other people can see it.
