  • Hit a couple of issues when using the KA6 DC coupled outputs. Firstly the outputs are TRS which didn't work right with patch cables and then there's the +_2V limitation due to being USB powered. In this video I show you how to solve both these things!

    Thank you for the ES cable tip, going to order that soon.

    Great job, just got a Komplete Audio 6...I'm thinking of using the headphone outputs to monitor audio so that I can then use all four outputs as cv sources...

    Make you 're own floating ring cable.. It is easy:
    Ring Floating Method (probably what you want if CV is involved)
    Tip -> Tip
    Ring -> Nothing
    Shield -> Shield

    Thanks for the useful video! wondering if you'd taken the Sum output from the Maths would you have gotten higher voltage than the 5 you got?

      Probably. You can amplify the signal as much as your gear allows.

  • @MR-qv1cr

    Is it possible to just amplify the CV range with a standard VCA like the 2hp dual VCA ? Or you need that specific amp module you’re using ? Thank you for the video !

      VCAs tend to attenuate. They go from zero to unity so you don't get any actual amplification - unless that's designed in as a feature.

    great comprehensive videos!! I am curious if I could ask you an audio question for a issue Im having here....
    with my desktop I am able to use my powered HS8's with no problem at all. When I try to use my passive system with the same desktop I get that static noise. Ive tried to use a mixer but doesnt change anything...
    I am using just a 1/8" headphone out from the desktop... Hopefully youve got an idea or some ideas
    thank you in advance if you do have the time for a reply. thanks again

      I can only assume it’s an Earth loop. You need to use a hum eliminator or some other way of removing the earth.

      Molten Music Technology Could you possibly point me in the direction of such a product? Audio interface perhaps?

    • @MoltenMusicTech
      @MoltenMusicTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Behringer HD400. But you are better off trying a decent audio interface first rather than using the onboard sound which is always susceptible to interference. But I’m making guesses from what you’ve said because it’s not very clear 😊

    Hey man, is the limited voltage output responsible for not being able to get a proper trigger CV into my DFAM? i can clock sync, and can sync pitch, but unable to actually get something into trigger IN with the CV tools, so am unsure if my komplete is broken or is it just the small voltage ? super big thanks for any help.

      I think you’ve answered your own question - I think a trigger is usually expecting +5v. So that’s probably it.

    I have output 1+2 for my Studio Monitors and 3+4 for CV and Gate, is this enough ?

    • @MoltenMusicTech
      @MoltenMusicTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Enough for what? But yep, that's what I was doing.

    The fact that this is out there now saves us all a small fortune in utility module & rack space costs. I'm sort of wondering if I should get the Audio 6 or spring for a Presonus to get 8 DC coupled outputs...The only beef with the Presonus is that it'll take up a lot of desktop real estate & maybe the extra 4 outputs would be overkill. Possibly another option might be to stick with getting the Audio 6 and if I need more control, buy a small module to do MIDI to CV for the rack.

    a quick question. Is NI capable to multitrack record your eurorack? Maybe from eurorack VCA output to NI input directly. Is it safe?

    • @MoltenMusicTech
      @MoltenMusicTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, you can take outputs from wherever you like in your Eurorack - they can be a bit "hot" but you turn things down where you need to.

    So 1 & 2 are unbalanced and could be use with a TS 1/4 to 1/8 (3,5 mm) TS Jack and output 3 & 4 is balanced and should be used with a floating ring cable; 1/4 TRS Jack (ring not used) to 1/8 TS jack. Am I right? Pity de N.I. specs didn't tell us about this.
    This floating ring cable is easy to d.i.y.
    Thanks for great video..

    • @MoltenMusicTech
      @MoltenMusicTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that's right, yes. NI didn't really know how to do it :D
