I used to live in Istanbul for more than two years in the late 90s. I taught German at a Turkish school. I loved every minute of it; Istanbul is an amazing place, because of the different culture it feels exotic somehow, yet still familiar. Not so happy with the politics going on at the moment there, but certainly hoping to revisit this gorgeous city sometime soon.

Loved this so, so much!! We lived in Iran in the early 1970's as my husband is a Textile Engineer, and helped construct textile mills there. We are originally Northern Irish, and have lived in Australia for the past 33 years. I love all the people and the culture, and, even though we are Christian, they made us feel so very comfortable and at home. Iranian and Turkish people are the most loving, giving, sharing in the world. Thanks Janine and Liam. Blessings to you both, Happy 40th Janine, LIam really spoiled you rotten. xxx D

Great vlog. I've had a hamam Turkish experience it was as Liam said a tad uncomfortable but good at the same time. That was in marmaris. You are spot on saying the Turkish people are lovely and friendly. 💚
Been 3 times now the city is just magical, like you have found out the Turkish people are very nice, welcoming and very generous. We just love Turkey and holiday there every year normally, cannot wait to go back, it just grips you and is one of the most wonderful countries to visit. The only place we haven’t been is Cappadocia, COVID interrupted our plans to go there, it will have to wait as we are going to India in the spring 2023, but we will tick our bucket list with Cappadocia later now. Glad you enjoyed your Turkish Holiday.

December 25 2022: What an incredible treat and so posh the hotel, spa treatment detail with towels formed like swans, food…what an incredible treat. I can imagine how it feels with the massage. Turkish coffee I have tried and not a great fan at all. Both of you look fabulous. Janine is so smart with wearing her trainers. I have really loved your videos of this 40th birthday trip. I obviously enjoy your van travels, we have a van ourselves but this trip has really shown your wonderful personalities and your amazing film making skills. The photography and editing was fantastic especially in the ballon, I think that 360 degree camera footage is hard work to edit and in the bazaar. I know you’re probably bankrupt now 🤣🤣 but you should definitely do more of these Happy Days! I love Travel Beans too and they have just hit 250k subscribers. You can also hit that, I’m sure. Marian and Chris got stuck in Turkey for the whole of covid lockdown.. about 18 months.. on their round the world trip in their campervan. It meant that they really got to know Turkey, the people, travel and eat the most delicious food everywhere. I've only been to Turkey once and loved it.. the people are really friendly and the food and landscapes are gorgeous.

The Hamam experience is worth it. I tried it in Samsun which wasn't as flash as the Istanbul one you tried. But remember it was painful in parts & can't recall them doing the foam part you talked about. Were lots of women in there doing their hair with henna. Glad you got to do a few more things there.

We have a place in Turkey and we agree wholheartedly, the Turkish people are so warm and welcoming. We have just got back after taking the daughter son in law and grandchildren for the first ever holiday abroad and they loved ity so much. Lovely suprise for you both .Istanbul is the p;ace we always fly to to get to our holiday home and we want to spend a week there too now after seeing your Vlog.

Brilliant video made us laugh when you had Turkish coffee and the Turkish bath. We had the coffee once that was enough.and the Turkish bath .we both had one a bit like Liam's.we went into a cave place. on the marble slabs and they bent our bodies ways we thought couldn't be done.very painful. I laughed when i saw what happened to Howard, when it happened to me Howard couldn't stop laughing at me saying stop,tell them to stop.needless to say only had that once. It really is a lovely place and the people so nice really enjoyed your Turkish trip.
Brilliant video this week. So glad you made it to the hamam and the Grand Bazaar. What a shame about the Blue Mosque, normally it would all be lit up with hundreds of small lights which make it even more beautiful. Next time you may get there. Safe journey home, I bet Morgan has missed you xx

We have a place in Turkey and we agree wholheartedly, the Turkish people are so warm and welcoming. We have just got back after taking the daughter son in law and grandchildren for the first ever holiday abroad and they loved ity so much.
Lovely suprise for you both .Istanbul is the p;ace we always fly to to get to our holiday home and we want to spend a week there too now after seeing your Vlog.

Brilliant video made us laugh when you had Turkish coffee and the Turkish bath. We had the coffee once that was enough.and the Turkish bath .we both had one a bit like Liam's.we went into a cave place. on the marble slabs and they bent our bodies ways we thought couldn't be done.very painful. I laughed when i saw what happened to Howard, when it happened to me Howard couldn't stop laughing at me saying stop,tell them to stop.needless to say only had that once. It really is a lovely place and the people so nice really enjoyed your Turkish trip.
