Coincidentally my mother's mother and father is and was ethnic Macedonians raised in Romania and Hungary respectively. Guess I shall consider myself blessed. It was through my grandma that I came in contact with traditional Romanian music and I've fallen in love ever since. Sadly I never got to meet my grandpa, otherwise I guess I would've come in contact with Hungary's music tradition as well, which is equally fascinating. A few years ago I happened to come across Ordog utja, the Hungarian Devil's Dance, and I fell in love.

În această minunată bucată de caffe concert, marele Grigoraș a pus suflet românesc, maghiar, italian, țigănesc, austriac, francez și puțin chiar rusesc. Cam acestea sunt ingredientele unui bun caffe concert.

I just got over this piece and my pianist sister told me: LEARN this NOW!
After 30 mins we played the first part together but our sheets didn't match to fibish the piece... if it wasn't for this recording I wouldn't have gotten over this MARVELOUS piece!! I LOVED the interpretation!! Greetings from Romania🙂

That's probably the best rendition of this piece I have ever heard. Bravo!
no offense, but it's not. It's way too stylized and modern compared to let's say the more traditional and to the source variant of Ion Voicu playing the Stradivarius. I mean the technique here is amazing, no doubt, but the overall arrangement is slightly modernized and over arranged.
@@ciupenhauer unfortunately the quality of Ion Voicu's recording available on TH-cam does not do justice to the interpretation.
What about Dinicu's rendition? It is available on TH-cam.
