First video that I watched where everything clicked right away! I will probably back this one, it looks like something my group would enjoy.
I can definitely see the dwellings of eldervale influence on this, and that's not a bad thing. I think it'll make this easier to learn and play if you're familiar with dwellings. Thanks for the overview! I'll be checking this out many times before the game releases. Very excited for this one! We thought meeples turning into houses was cute. Now we have ships turning into cities! That's awesome

I'm here from Gamefound/Andromeda's Edge. I already watched it, but I did not click the like. : 0 How did I forget that!?
My interest is peaked. I have enjoyed Luke Laurie and Tom Jolly's Manhattan Project Energy Empire from 2016. I see some mechanisms from that game in Andromeda's Edge.
Would love to see a playthrough of Radlands! Really fun and snappy two player game and would make a great video. Have you played it?
Your videos are one of the main reasons I got into the hobby with my girlfriend (we mostly play at 2 player) and the way you explain the rules of games is much easier to follow than other sources which makes deciding which games to buy very easy. Love your playthroughs!
We've been recommended Radlands by a number of people. It's on our 'want to play list', hopefully we can get to it this year!

Great video! I really like the play throughs. In this video it's a bit distracting when Naveen with "umhm" or "yeah" during the explanation after basically every point. I'm sure I do that myself sometimes. I'm just not used to it in this sort of video.

Might have missed it but is there any dice mitigation abilities? How does strategy come into winning a battle?
You can play tactics cards during battle that can effect the outcome. (In addition to making sure you have multiple starships in the region, and spending energy for extra dice)

Quick question: is the event card showing at all before it's triggered? In other words, is there any way to plan for an upcoming event?
No it’s not, but you can “voyage” to 1 of the 6 nebula spaces to see the top 2 event cards and choose 1 to go under the deck and the other to remain in the top. Hope that helps!

Purely curious, is there some meaning behind the gladius sword in the background? Alex from BoardGameCo has one in the background of his videos too. Is there a secret board game content creator sword battle club? Ha

Chip Theory Games sent an individualized Hoplomachus sword to around 30 board game reviewers as a token of appreciation for their contribution to the gaming community. The sword is emblematic of CTG's new release of Hoplomachus: Victorum and Hoplomachus: Remastered.
So much of this looks so great, and then you roll dice for combat. Ok there is a bit more to it than just roll some dice, maybe I've just been spoiled by Dead Reckoning in the last year.
Haven't tried Dead Reckoning, how is it?
Undoubtedly my game of the year last year. The card crafting system fits so well with upgrading your pirate crew and battles are exciting and quick. Just throw some cubes in the battleship and see how they land, then you have a couple abilities that you back and forth to alter the state. It has a little bit in common with Scythe, or maybe more accurately, with what people might assume about Scythe by looking at it - that it is a mech combat game with Euro elements instead of the opposite. Dead Reckoning's combat blows Scythe's deterministic combat out of the water (I still do love Scythe btw). I am usually a medium-heavy Euro player but DR is awesome. If you have time at Airecon I could bring it along and show you, however, including teach, it might be a bit on the longer side.
@@BeforeYouPlay Dead Reckoning is fun. Really feels like a pirate game. The theme is strong with this one. The card crafting and leveling up your crew is a super fun thing you get to do every turn.

Hi! Do you have a sense on how heavy this game is on a BGG scale? (1-5). Heavier than Gaia Project? More than Paladins WK?
I'd say less than Gaia project for sure. Maybe a 3.5 on the BGG heavy scale.

This looks so similar to Dwellings that I'm not sure it's even worth it, and nothing in it really looks better.
I think I may be leaning that way too. It really feels like more of a reskin than a new game. I own Dwellings already so I feel like I would be choosing between these games to play instead them being unique enough to own both. I think maybe owning Dwellings and a game like Eclipse might be better for me.
If you would have chance to exhange your copy of Dwellings for Andromeda what would you do?
And how is the battle like..? It looks like to random for me... One ship is able destroy whole army... Is it similar in Dwellings?
@@grom44 For me I would keep Dwellings of Eldervale. Mostly because there are a lot of really good empire builder sci-fi themed games out there already and very few fantasy themed ones. I already own several really good sci-fi themed games in this genre. Since Dwellings and Andromeda are so similar mechanically the choice for me comes down to where do these games fit in my collection. Dwellings is a better fit for me.
