I grew up between Japan and America from age 9, and I listened to a lot of Jpop. Finished my stay when I was 17. She has mentioned in interviews she wants to fuse Japanese melodies with western pop, and as someone who grew up both, I 100% hear it. Maybe it might not take off, but for a lot of us international kids who lived in Japan, it’s really poignant.
I used to listen to lots of jpop. I definitely hear the jpop influences in her music. But then jpop itself also has a lot of western influences and I kind of hear the western pop music scene influences of jpop that influences today’s Rina’s music. Mind blowing eh?!?

wow.. i'm in so much awe, i've always loved this song as well as the remixes but you keep FEEDING ME.... i really appreciate that this piano version actually is its own version instead of just being the studio vocals slapped onto a piano track. it really brings out the raw emotion! that subtle growl at 1:57 was incredible
