Welcome to the very first 100 Day Ark Survival Evovled Nuzlocke challenge. The Nuzlocke challenge orignates from the Pokemon series, and you can read more about it in the link below. For this challenge I will be taking on the Ark map of Crystal Isles, as I attempt to take on the Gamma Wyvern Queen in 100 Days. I hope you enjoy.

That is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting challenges you've done.
Mostly because it isn't reliant on endless mutation breeding and is totally justified in using singleplayer settings, as I do not believe it would be possible otherwise.
However, I do see a few problems. Mostly, going by the displayed region name will be a massive problem on a few maps where the Devs weren't quite as diligent. Especially on Island and Scorched. But going by coordinate squares is boring, and having the wiki Spawn Map open to check the spawn regions would be a massive pain.
Also, it would be nice to have some variant of having to tame first creature encountered would be nice to break metas, but isn't workable as it is. Perhaps being forced to tame the first level 135+ seen would be similar in spirit.
I might give this a try at some point, looks fun.

@@Rampy this would be a great challenge to try again on another map with some tweaks. I have watched 5 of these videos in the last feww days since finding your channel and they are great keep up this fantastic work
Overall a really cool idea and challenge. The occasional spawning things in and re-taming of dinos for higher levels did take away from it a bit for me, as it mitigates some of the point of the challenge (since I assume in a nuzlocke you aren't able to do these things) but still a cool video, and if it was fun and entertaining that's what matters at the end of the day.
7 months late so I’m not sure if you care but, a TH-camr that focus’s on Pokémon Nuzlocks (Hundreds if not thousands of runs, other pokemon nuzlock runs done by other people use his rules so on and so on)does spawn in items like Rare Candy (Increases Level by 1) and sometimes even gives himself infinite money to buy items, but he also has rules to keep these things from throwing off the balance which can’t be applied to ark ex. No leveling Pokémon higher than the next gym leaders Pokémon, No using items in battle etc. Since he streams most of his Nuzlocks he doesn’t want viewers to have to watch mindless grinding for hours.
TLDR: You can spawn things in during Pokémon Nuzlocks but unless you put rules in place it’s pointless to even do the run.
@wiledertoster4691 for a streaming scenario that makes sense, for something like a TH-cam video it could even be argued that that is fine just to mitigate the tedious stuff, but I would argue that in ark it mitigates quite a bit of challenge as well as monotony, while in pokemon it only mitigates monotony as there is no challenge in leveling pokemon up, in fact his limitations increase the challenge in exchange for reducing monotony while as shown in this video in ark it mitigates both rather than trading one for the other
I can imagine you getting out of the boss fight then realizing the Anky was also alive and just being like 😂

First rule of nuzlocke is if your entire is dead you lose, so after your giant monkey died you lost the nuzlocke.
For the switch out of blood wyverns I would honestly consider it against the rules because in nuzlockes you can't just switch your Pokemon out you have to deal with what you've been dealt. For example it's like switching out a Pokemon who has a better nature than the one you already have but because you can't catch multiple of the same you have to deal with what you've been dealt. That is just my opinion.

This is such a good idea, and it shows so much promise! All it needs are the rules tweaking to make it great.
Some suggestions:
Remove the area requirement entirely. Ark maps aren't set up for this kind of thing, and the devs weren't very consistent in their naming, so it's best to just cast that aside.
Perhaps keep the rules real simple - you can only tame one of each dino. Once they're dead, they're dead.
Another facet of a nuzlocke I think could be fun to dabble in is the rule where you're forced to catch the first pokemon you see in an area. Maybe to make this viable, you could make the rule so that you're forced to catch the first 135+ you see of each species? This could lead to some interesting circumstances where you're using creatures you usually wouldn't!
Remember also that it's the first creature you CATCH of its type, not the first creature that dies - If you tame a dodo, you've tamed your one dodo. Whether it dies, lives, or is released, that's your one dodo.
Keep it up! This is such a fun idea!

It certainly more interesting when you attempt bosses with such a ragtag band of dinos. Mutated rexes are cool, but tons of random creatures are way better.
Some bizarre plays in this, but a good watch nonetheless!

Whenever I hear that beginning of the challenge all I can think of is “fetch me their souls”! I loved call of duty zombies lol
My favorite method for solo taming quetzals is putting your wyvern on follow and medium distance. This allows you to stand on its back without it trying to land every time you dismount to pop a shot off then remount and follow the quetzal around until its knocked out.

I'm not a nuzlocke person, but I do want h a fair amount and trading out a team member is.... Well it depends. You are doing a no duplicates run, only catching one of each species.
It's your own variant, so your own rules, but if it were me based on how you explained the rules, I would not have allowed myself to do the exchange. At least not without the trade-off of it 'using' another location. But even then I don't think I would have. Nothing really stops you from 'trading up' then, unless you put some limit or 'price' on it.
No matter all that though, it was fun to watch! Hope you do more.

normally i'd say that in normal pokemon nuzlockes it is generally not acceptable to release a pokemon for the same pokemon with a better nature for example, however with ark being alot harder than any pokemon game i would accept releasing a dinosaur to replace it with a better one of the same variant as long as it hasn't died.
I would also love to say i love your content and i hope you reach 100k subscribers by the end of 2023!

Why in the world would you choose an ape over a literal BARYONYX??? That thing has a saddle, can swim, you can shoot from it, good health pool, doesn't have oxygen stat, can stun things in the water, and is an excellent cave dino. And you chose monke. Which... Can gather fiber?

This man is good at breathing air
Simple trick for a yuti, a 2x2 with 1 high wall with 2 ramps on one side. carnos can go over the 1 wall high, a yuti can't. Surprised you were doing so bad at the start with the x4 harvest and x6 taming. Also you got a ton of cp, you can make 4 metal billboards and thats a trap for like 100% of medium and large dinos. even being able to block quetzals, just download SS as it has a few life improwing stuff

Reminds me of a series another youtuber (Schwalbe) did where he could only tame one of each creature and only use a certain food item to tame a creature once (eg. If he uses azulberries to tame a mammoth then he can never use azulberries to tame anything else)

if you set a wyvern to follow you while your flying you can get off of it in the sky and it wont try to land allowing you to stay on its back to net creatures in the sky

One of the easiest ways to tame a wyvern is just to quickly get an iron pickaxe, get some crystal and sit on it's back while feeding it. Though you do need lvl ~60 to tame one.

Nice Idea. I bet with more good saddles shotgun assistance and some more big dinos in the army (stegos are actually pretty decent so one of those could help for example) even the beta boss might be possible.

Don't take this the wrong way but this isn't the foray nuzlocke on ark. Another ark player I used to watch named "Schwalbe" did a nuzlocke a couple years ago I didnt ecen know what it was till then. Tbf tho this is the first one ive seen since lol and also as I understood it, "one of each type" is suppose to mean 1 flier 1 herbivore, 1 carnivore, 1 caving mount, and a shoulder pet. In schwalbes run he did it in a nomad style run and lived off a pre tamed brontos back and left it on wander. Although the nomad one mightve been different idk its been so long. Now also this was on mobile and "beating" mobile is through dungeons which you have to do on foot and theyre fn crazy af. Imagine doing the artifact of the strong on the island (yeti cave) on foot. That's what the dungeons are like. You gotta ve super kitted out to do it. But you get rewarded tek that way. Its different than normal ark but still pretty good. However in this idk what you meant by "one of each type" all I could tell was you only could have just one of each species. 1 rex 1 argy 1 pt etc. Which confused me. But still a rampy W is big lol good on ya m8
In an actual nuzlocke you have to catch the first pokemon that you encounter, but that's kind of nitpicky and also very impractical for ARK
