The mid-credit scene from No Way Home still baffles me to this day. If you want to introduce the symbiote in the MCU, that's fine. There had to have been a less clunky way of doing so that didn't involve Tom Hardy's Venom being transported to the MCU and doing nothing at all with it.

I'm so glad this franchise is over. It went by fast, thank god. I love the Venom character but I just couldn't get into this version of the character. I didn't spend one dime to watch any of them and I hope the MCU's version of Venom makes up for this.
The big issue with the movies is the main character. Venom works phenomenally as a murderous villain, but with a code. In the movies, however, they make him into a hero. When you couple the dual personalities with their capabilities, the role of hero is not quite a good fit. It’s like a pocket of air in fresh laid cement. At first it may look fine, but eventually you’ll have major problems. That’s what happened here. At first the series looked promising. But, the further along Venom went, the more it became obvious something was seriously off.
@@RJRigs - that’s where they screwed up. He was at his best when he was a semi-relatable villain, with morals. You understood his grievance, and why he wanted Spider-Man dead. At the same time, there were lines he wouldn’t cross. For instance, he wouldn’t lay a finger on May Parker or willingly harm civilians. He was perfect, an entirely human supervillain. Then Marvel screwed Venom up. First, they allowed Erik Larsen to visually reimagine Venom. This is where the character got the large, fang filled maw, overlong tongue, tons of drool and wanted to eat Spidey’s brain. Then, as the character became more popular, they moved him out west and made him into an anti-hero. But, that approach sucked. This is why they’ve been trying different takes on Venom every few years. Problem is, none of them have the power of that original take.
I just can’t wrap my mind around the fact, Sony dropped a venom trilogy before the spiderverse trilogy concluded. These venom movies would be amazing if they dropped around 2000 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ Also I gotta remind myself how we just had Tony Todd playing venom in the ps spidey 2 game *edit* ughh rest in peace Tony Todd
28:20 There is genuinely a way that could've brought Knull into the movie without him physically being there. In the comics, his main body is sealed away, but on earth, a symbiote wyvern connected to him was being piloted by Knull and Knull was able to create an avatar for himself through the symbiote matter present. They could've easily had the monsters in this movie merge to create a pseudo body for him to control
I don't understand why they would put a post-credits scene in this movie if this is the last we're going to see of Tom Hardy's Venom-unless Knull is going to go to Earth-616, and in Avengers: Secret Wars, Peter gets the symbiote suit? I've never been a huge fan of these Venom movies for a few reasons. For one, I think having solo Spider-Man villain movies with no Spider-Man is a dumb idea. I want to see these villains fighting their heroes. Imagine an R-rated Spider-Man: Kraven's Last Hunt movie with Tom Holland's Spider-Man and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Kraven. I think a solo Venom movie could work if Venom showed up in a Spider-Man movie first, and then they did a Venom spin-off. I also don't like how comedic they made Venom. When I think of Venom, I shouldn't be saying to myself, 'You know, he's pretty cool and cute. I just want to hug and hang out with him,' because that's what this Venom is-he's cute and adorable, and that's not how Venom should be. A Venom movie should be dark, R-rated, and have a lot of horror elements. You should be scared of Venom, not want to hang out with him.
I like Venom movies for what they are. But I can't lie and say there wasnt untapped potential without Spider-Man. If they had gotten the rights and Sony wasnt stingy so much could have been done this is a C Plus series of goofiness and action and I'd be lying if i said i didn't like every minute i was watching this series
Shouldn't forget/excuse the creative roles that BOTH Tom Hardy & Kelly Marcel (Fifty Shades of Grey) have had as Writers, Producers & now Director (Marcel) in this incredibly mediocre Trilogy! Entire franchise has mostly been about being a giant payday for a host of British Talent; Hardy, Marcel, Riz Ahmed, Andy Serkis, Naomie Harris, Stephen Graham, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans :)
I was thinking that too. Man these films are filled with British actors and yeah I feel like Tom Hardy and Kelly Marcel had probably a bit too much creative control of the series.
@@ataridc Venom and Eddie have some codex thing inside them so Venom sacrifices themselves by merging with the aliens sent by Knull thus leaving only Eddie. So this really was his last time as the character.

Movie should have been a Limited rated R HBO series. After the first movie all everyone is wondering is where is Spiderman and is Tom Hardy ever going to meet the MCU Spiderman
Martin's DEMEANOR during the Preview SPEAKS FOR US ALL. Tom Hardy MUST'VE BEEN strapped for Cash or Owed money to some Vindictive Stripper or something. As a result HE'S IN MORE DEPT🤣🤣
The idea that people are unsure about how gay these movies are is insane to me. The tagline is literally wedding vows "Til death do they part". In the second movie, they're raising chickens together, and venom says he's "Coming out of the eddie closet". Venom kisses eddie in the first movie. They're as close to being gay without just straight up actually getting married. They're always sitting in plausible deniability, never just straight up saying it probably for marketing purposes, but it's like saying Joker might maybe have 1% of commentary on society.
This is one of those movies that makes people think "I can write a better movie than this. This was completely bullshit"... and then we end up with more movies like it because Sony is allergic to learning from their mistakes.
I always go into the venom films to just have fun, but when I tell you how PISSED I was that they set up the end of the second movie to possibly be in Spider-Man No Way Home and then they went NOWHERE with it……….. yea I was not happy I was so excited that venom might’ve showed up in it and he never did
Remember when Tom Hardy did movies like Bronson, Lawless, Warrior, Locke, The Drop, Mad Max Fury Road? I miss those days when he did interesting choices
I think since they’ve established this is in its own verse away from the mcu it’s made me like these movies more cause it’s their own things. This is a different version of venom where he’s good which is actually interesting. I hope we get to see a menacing venom someday in the mcu
Saw the movie today with my older sister! As for the movie as a whole: this was quite the way to wrap up the trilogy perhaps not being as good as the previous entries but still entertaining I definitely appreciated two moments were it got pretty deep, much needed levity given everything both these characters have been through Tom Hardy is still very entertaining to watch next to the action scenes and the symbiotes The climax is very explosive and I did appreciate Chiewetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple's supporting roles, they didn’t come off as stereotypical authority figures It's a shame the main villain Knull is in the background for a lot of this but he looks very scary and being voiced by Andy Serkis Much of this does hearken to those comics mythology Rhys Ifans makes a funny appearance as a hippie, too This final entry could’ve ended on a stronger note but it ends more on a whimper The mid credits scene is better than the after credits scene so who knows how much more of this SONY universe can be explored Anyone expecting a 100% accurate depiction of the character from the source material you will be disappointed waiting for an actual Spider-Man connection For the fans of this particular take on the character it provides a serviceable conclusion
This was the best in the franchise. Tom Hardy's acting really carried this. The movie gave a lot more than I thought it would. It's hard PG-13. I'm actually surprised they got away with out and R rating. Good action, acting, and ending.
If there’s any good thing that came out of this trilogy is that this venom trilogy has made Tober grace venom look not too bad in comparison to Tom Hardy venom
33:54 He was Martian Man Hunter in the old DCEU. Its been a while since iv seen man of steel but if he was in there then yeah Julian's right. 34:01 thats the guy from doctor strange
Sounds like a shitty mess of a movie. I didn't care for previous movies, especially the 2nd one. Not even a great actor like Woody Harrelson could save that trash. The trailer made this latest one look interesting, but sounds like it's better than the movie itself. I think I'll pass on this one.
I see how it's an argument of whether that person was innocent or not. That person was antagonistic but not a villain. Symbiotes can take over a planet. That being said Eddie did what he had to do.
Awful trilogy to a character that deserved so much better
Trying to create a Venom origin movie without Spiderman was a dumb idea.

I'm so glad this franchise is over. It went by fast, thank god. I love the Venom character but I just couldn't get into this version of the character. I didn't spend one dime to watch any of them and I hope the MCU's version of Venom makes up for this.
I knew as soon as they showed Knull he likely wasn’t gonna be doing shit. Trailer even looked like he cameos at the end.
Poor Andy Serkis always gets saddled with the cool looking villain who ends up getting nothing to do. It's LAST JEDI all over again!
Hey I'm sure he doesn't mind the paycheck and stuff.
Plus him in Andor? The best one could ever ask for.
"One way out!"
Don’t forget he directed the last venom movie which was not surprised
At least Andy serkis as snoke in last Jedi got do stuff he didn’t just the chair for the whole movie
He did more than in the Last Jedi than this.
It's a shame that they can't use Spiderman to his full extent to make Vemom more interesting
🎯
To be fair, he's an anti-hero in the comics as well. The problem was that there was no Spider-Man in these movies to give him that choice.
Venom has been a anti-hero/hero for more of his existence than he’s ever been a villain.
@@DetroitAlan01 No, Venom’s his own character and doesn’t need Spider-man.
I just can’t wrap my mind around the fact, Sony dropped a venom trilogy before the spiderverse trilogy concluded. These venom movies would be amazing if they dropped around 2000 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
Also I gotta remind myself how we just had Tony Todd playing venom in the ps spidey 2 game
*edit* ughh rest in peace Tony Todd
Michelle Williams got her ass outta there!
We are in the “copper age” of comic book movies: the part where they printed too many copies of bad books and they weren’t worth anything.
Hopefully the Venom series is now 😎 Knull and void.
No, Venom wasn't in the void...
Knull literally couldnt get up because he was captive. He hets up in the vision of the bad things happening that venom shows eddie
I am very curious to see how well this movie will do at the box office
It's impossible to have a dull time watching these guys. They're literally so hilarious. Double Toasted rocks!!
The dude next to me fell asleep, that sums up the whole movie. This is also the first time I was using my phone during a movie.
I get it you didn't enjoy the movie but going on your phone in the cinema? Cmon
Well at least your neighbor was asleep and not repeating every joke that was “attempted” to be made during my theater viewing😵💫
@@LazyEyeNZ ikik, but it's just during the singing and dance scene tho hahaha.
@@tigertim620 Oh no.
Thomas and Colman sounds like one of those 70ties comedy acts like "Yeah. What? Yeah. What?"
And Andy Serkis for the second Venom movie
@@michaelstrong5383 Sure, but the other 2 had a bigger creative role across all 3 movies :(
@@AllInTheGame01 True, but Serkis did come back in this film as the voice of Knull.
I was thinking that too. Man these films are filled with British actors and yeah I feel like Tom Hardy and Kelly Marcel had probably a bit too much creative control of the series.
Tom Hardy wasn’t kidding when this was his last dance with the ending…
whats the ending?
@@ataridc Venom and Eddie have some codex thing inside them so Venom sacrifices themselves by merging with the aliens sent by Knull thus leaving only Eddie. So this really was his last time as the character.
@@fulcrum6760 dang! These movies were goofy fun but I always felt like they could be more with better writing.
@@ataridc Yeah, I think this means Tom Holland got the final say and Spider-Man 4 will be street level.
@@fulcrum6760 thank god this garbage abyssmal turd shitshow is over. Horrible Studio with horrible garbage movies.
The best Venom movie is……Spider-Man 3 and that is saying a lot about these Venom movies.
If you really think this, you need your head checked.

I was hoping for a Venom Korey for the review.
I was hoping Korey would pull up in a bad venom inside or of those Costume hoodies you can get at Hot Topic
Naaah. We got too spoiled with the “Joker 2” & “Transformers ONE” review😅
Korey's already black
He's wearing a black shirt!
I enjoyed the film. The acting was great. I just loved the relationship between Eddie and Venom. I feel like your enjoyment of the movie is tied to how much you like Eddie and Venom's goofy shtick.
Well, the venom movies compared to other movies in the Sony cinematic universe are better than Morbius and Madame Web. Which is not saying much.

If Venom, (got that) adrenaline momentum, Knull has the Novacane, because he just sits around lol
I just grow ever more baffled why these movies continue to exist. What Sony is subjecting to the masses should be criminal
Movie should have been a Limited rated R HBO series. After the first movie all everyone is wondering is where is Spiderman and is Tom Hardy ever going to meet the MCU Spiderman
Hearing about Knull in this review gives me hope that Disney will do better for him than Sony.
Why
How? They already had gor have the necro sword out of no where
I knew they would waste Knull
Martin was fighting to say he sort of liked this movie 😂
It’s kinda crazy they made enough money to keep making more films and eventually a whole trilogy.
Sony just loves haters. They mostly make stuff that insults and anger you.

21:51 Its Girts. We know its Girts lol
The first two were horrible
Honestly the first one wasn't that bad the second one is so so and I haven't seen the third one yet but soon I'll see it on streaming
I really hated the second movie it gave me and my mom a headache 😂
@ShinKamaitachi FACTS!!!! First one was SURPRISINGLY engaging and entertaining. Like REALLY, solid.
Kory, don't ever call me delicious lmao lmao
Wow! Venom's out already?
Venom vs terrifier.
Art gets the carnage symbiote
The Xenophaiges were the best part of this movie with how formidable they were and how they killed.
Hearing Martin say Tom hardy was in dark knight rises 20 years ago made me feel old as hell. Especially since it’s only been like 12 💀
This is one of those movies that makes people think "I can write a better movie than this. This was completely bullshit"... and then we end up with more movies like it because Sony is allergic to learning from their mistakes.
Venom sounds like a Gen Z Yoda 😂.
Third time's a charm, more like third time's a carnage😅
Gone get on Tyler Perry's Beauty in Black 😂
Did they add the picture in post of the general army guy in superman or did Korey mess up? 😂
Saw the movie today with my older sister!
As for the movie as a whole: this was quite the way to wrap up the trilogy perhaps not being as good as the previous entries but still entertaining
I definitely appreciated two moments were it got pretty deep, much needed levity given everything both these characters have been through
Tom Hardy is still very entertaining to watch next to the action scenes and the symbiotes The climax is very explosive and I did appreciate Chiewetel Ejiofor and Juno Temple's supporting roles, they didn’t come off as stereotypical authority figures
It's a shame the main villain Knull is in the background for a lot of this but he looks very scary and being voiced by Andy Serkis
Much of this does hearken to those comics mythology
Rhys Ifans makes a funny appearance as a hippie, too
This final entry could’ve ended on a stronger note but it ends more on a whimper
The mid credits scene is better than the after credits scene so who knows how much more of this SONY universe can be explored
Anyone expecting a 100% accurate depiction of the character from the source material you will be disappointed waiting for an actual Spider-Man connection
For the fans of this particular take on the character it provides a serviceable conclusion
Venom should be a Horror sci Fi comic book film that is rated R
Venom gets three movies no Spider-Man but we still don’t have Superman trilogy. 😂😢
