I just used this fence idea for my yard and it turned out great. My cemetery looks fantastic thanks to your great tutorial! I also loosened some random slats to make fence look more dilapidated and added some skulls to tops pickets! I’d post a pic here if I could! Happy haunting Eduardo!
Neat fence idea and I like the distressing technique, although it seemed like it could done a little more... but I like how simple it is... but I'm a bit jealous, you have a wonderfully very large yard to set something like that up! So you need a solution for a large yard... My front yard is a tiny postage stamp compared to yours. I made my graveyard fence (16 foot but made in four 4-foot sections) using a real fence from Home Depot, they had a 2 or 3 damaged picket fence sections so I bought them at a huge discount... when I got them home I swapped the 2x3's for 1x2's to make the fence lighter and spaced out the pickets to make the fence span a longer distance and I put some pickets at an angle to make them look like a neglected graveyard fence. For paint I used a grey paint, I got lucky and found it in their "Oops paint" (saved money there) dry brushed a little white paint and then stained it by dripping water and black paint to get the grungy weathered look. The fence is still holding up after 6 seasons and I've used the fence in different configurations so it's versatile; I keep it stored outdoors under a patio... it gives that real weathered look!
That's essentially what we did. When we bought the house, the back yard had tons of old fencing that I removed, then I set up the 8-foot sections as free-standing fences. They'd already been weathered naturally for many years so there was no work to do. All of the paint was already peeling.
I like this idea. Last year we had to use caution tape strung between our yard and the neighbors so that the child would walk around our yard and not through it. We had inflatable Halloween decorations and didn’t want the children & adults tripping over the strings in the dark.
👍👍👍👍 This is mind--🤯--blowing, to see somebody on TH-cam still keeping their tradition alive and well. The decorations are out of sight, out of mind. I will say not to many people today keep their tradition going today, that's for sure. So many people stop that anymore but this family here you can tell they're keeping real, like I said it's mind-blowing. I wish more people out there keep their holiday traditional I like this.
I love this! So simple and so clever! I'll definitely be making this. And I like your detail idea of skewering things on them. I have some old baby dolls that may work...
That would be cool. Especially if you had the mine carts and some creepers. Well, just characters from the game would be so awesome. Nothing like anyone would have for sure.
I enjoy your videos. When I used to have a "walk through" display, my wife came up with a simple fence. 2x2s pounded into the ground at about 7 or 8' apart. Then 1x2s between them one near the top and one near the bottom. Then we cut random size pickets out of 1/4" or 3/8" plywood scraps; some wider, sum narrower. They were attached to the horizontal 1x2s with drywall screws. She dry brushed (actually dry rollered) black and white paint. Very cheap. I'm sure the fences you use are pricey. My were cheap but needed a lot labor to set them up.
Thank you so much for your videos, I just bought the lights you recommended in your lighting tutorial! We love Halloween and are so excited to set up our decorations this year!
That's great! I watch a guy up in PA that puts up a ton of inflatables for Halloween & the delivery guys keep walking on the lawn. Needs that fencing 🎃👻

I was literally looking up how to make a fence last night before going to bed. And now I wake up to this in my subscription feed 😂 what a coincidence
Me too!
It's no coincidence. Our phones are spying on our every move! 🕵♂️🕴👨💻🕴🕵♀️

Love your work. Your yard was awesome!!!!!
I enjoyed this video, I started using this fence 4 years ago without painting it. I've lest them outside and they now have a very weathered look.
I have been stressing out this year wondering if you were going to be posting videos for Halloween prep
Me too.
That is so easy and affordable. Thank you!
When he laid it out on the ground I thought it could also be a cheap, easy way to create a mine cart track or train track effect.
That would be cool. Especially if you had the mine carts and some creepers. Well, just characters from the game would be so awesome. Nothing like anyone would have for sure.
I really enjoy your channel thanks so much I’ve tried several of your tutorials I thank you 😊 I do wish you had a bigger following you deserve it
Can't get any easier than that! Good find.

Been looking for cheap fence ideas that are easy to store! Thanks!!
If you had to do something a bit less creepy, like for little kids, you could make a monster rollercoaster with that fencing.

I ask myself that all the time... he's handsome, loves Halloween, and can make cool stuff. My ideal man. lol
Thought the same when he appeared in his "bone jammies" !!!!
“I’m going to paint this wood with a mixture to make it look like it is covered in mold and decay, but it also serves as a protective coat… from mold and decay.”
How do you safely dispose of the left over water/paint mixture?
is halloween still fun in the corona time?
Totally cool! 😃
Sweet thanks
