Very nice, but there is no way this is like project zomboid considering too little zombies, on zomboid if you shoot or fart a bit lounder, instantly you can get 15-50 zombies on you.
i played both (vein 33.2 hrs, Zomboid 345.4 hrs) and in my opinion its literally the first/third person version of zomboid but zomboid is way much more developed
It depends on your setting. But yes usually people would want to play with more zombies. Hopefully they will put in a setting as detailed as project zomboid
The only downside that zomboid have - ridiculous hearing since sneezing on high population in town is death sentence even when zombies have bad hearing turned on. Obviously staying behind lots of doors and walls does nothing and zombie hearing works on radius ignoring any obstacles.
Yeah games like 7 Days to Die lag inanely bad with big hordes of Zombies, possibly cause of bad optimizations and with pathing in a voxel game. Other games like Days Gone have much better optimizations for their hordes of like a hundred zombies.

realistically for zombie survival bases, you don't want any of your first or second thoughts, the best places to go are going to be easily fortified locations that don't actually have any supplies, so a library for example, as long as it's not a fancy one with lots of windows the idea is to avoid anything that people are going to flock to, where there's people there's either zombies or raiders, so obviously nothing commercial, grocery stores, malls, markets, etc, no warehouses and no home improvement stores, no restaraunts
Zombie survival bases should be far away from any pre-existing commercial centers. It should be somewhere rural, with lots of fertile land to farm, ideally with defensible terrain. If you could somehow set up the logistics for it, an offshore oil rig would be the best position
It looks like a loot hoarding simulator, and the zombies are clearly an afterthought. If a "game" sounds like the inventory of a department store, then it's probably not a game.
This for me would be the perfect game, it wasn't tried but I hope that if you actually sit quietly that the zombie blocking the door would just go away. I love that you can be trapped like that
I've played this game for +100 hours since it launched as a demo and I must say I love it and every update makes it much much better. I can't wait until this game fully releases. Only thing I haven't tried yet is the multiplayer aspect of it

There will never be a game on the same par as Zomboid, in terms of just overall like... tweakability of the experience. Even with mods, like honestly I feel like they could add a 1st person/3rd person mod (somehow, probably not honestly considering the engine but IF THEY COULD) and it would blow this other game out of the water. Zomboid is that perfect.

I was thinking of something like a 3D project zomboid, but what i liked most about project zomboid is the art style, or even maybe the body animations. theres something cool and unique about seeing your character move and rummage through trash to find something to me. I dont mind the vulnerability problem, and it might even be fixed with this proposition. as project zomboid did, it was really bad at the start, still good enough to be enjoyable but compared to now, now is miles better. If there was a 3D PZ game, that had some sort of VR functionality in some way, a little like saints of the dead, but better, like building, etc. it would solve the body animation issue as you'd be the one animating, having to go down to trash piles or opening boxes to 'search' you'd not need a vision cone, as you'd have one naturally you can do actual first-aid on yourself, checking your wounds. the only thing i'd imagine being hard is things like mechanics and driving.

I’d really like to see a zombie game where, if you’re bitten/infected and you “turn,” you then get to play AS a zombie. I design board games, and back ~15 years ago I made a zombie survival style game. It was probably my favorite game that I made (but I only ever distributed it to a handful of friends). At its core it was a simple move around the board/ find shelter/ fight zombies/ get to extraction point game… but if people wanted they could get more involved in deeper, RPG-levels of detail, with tons of choice available to the players - especially in regards to deciding whether to work together cooperatively, or get competitive, or even blend the two and betray/turn on one another, etc. But I made sure to include the ability to stay on the board after you got infected, and then you chase around the remaining players, because I felt that was an important thing to bring to the genre.
Remake it on Tabletop Simulator, if you have it. You could end up with a wide audience that way, as people spread the game via word of mouth. I'd be down to try it, certainly.

Yes. Adding a delay to each and every action (progress bar) was not the greatest idea. I know in real life it takes 1 second to open a cupboard's door, but it wasn't necessary to reflect it in the game... Also the reviewer is extremely slow and quite... "confused". Took him forever to drive a car among other things. Apart from that, the game seems to have potential, but I would say it needs extra work.

Things i want in a zombie apocalypse survival game: 1. Good base building ( not limited to buildables and can fortify a building) 2. Can horde and display stuff 3. Games like PZ are absolutely perfect. Im so sick of them putting ao much into the graphics that every other factor is lacking. Games are supposed to look animated they arent suppose to look real idgaf about how real the game looks. But when you gotta go thru a house and dig thru the cabinets for supplies, thats top notch detailing to me. I miss when games were games. Not cinematic playable cut scenes. Thats what a lot of games are today unfortunately.
I don't mean to compare and put down another game, but just out of value proposition reasons, this already looks a lot better than 'Mist Survival'. @@eddb0i Well, these are Devs who worked on Dead Matter, which was a majorly ambitious idea, but the team or lead (or both) were far too incompetent to pull it off. So this is pretty close to that game, may have a few differences here and there, but same idea. Whether these guys are actually competent enough to pull this off is kinda beyond me, because I don't really know who was at fault for that last projects failure. But this is free, so no one's getting scammed out of any money here.
I had an absolute blast discovering I could just drive and drive and drive!! One of my favorite game moments ever was the original Mafia, discovering you could drive out into the country for miles!! The developers didn’t have to put all of that content into the game, but they did!

Check and clear your sanitation trench, as you local water system isn't going to work for much longer, and without that trench, you'll be sitting in your own shit sooner than you think. Anyone that thinks there's nothing to do, when you're living in a situation with no modern amenities, needs to turn off their phone and go volunteer at a farm. Up by 5am, working till 7pm. ALWAYS something you should be doing.

Admittedly I’m a sucker for these uploads comparing them to project zomboid. I bought the game years ago and have never been able to get a grip on the UI and controls. I’m a console and mobile game player because of a busy life with kids. I do play a few pc games, but the learning curve was just infuriating 😭 Ever since though, I’ve been looking for a similar game in any form that’s easier to “pick up and play”.

You have cannabis in SCUM, you can plant it, smoke it, sell it. Also Day Z has it too. This game looks really desperate. Very ugly graphics, the animations are really dull, the sounds are lame. No wonder this game is free.
If it's literally just First Person PZ then yes... it's going to be better... My one gripe with PZ was the top down, only reason I don't actually play it

I found the combat controls to be infuriating. I couldn't get the character to do what I wanted because the control for movement and attack was so wonky.

The zombies are easier too kill and there are zero bandits or other humans which isn't realistic that only one person would survive

Ah I forgot about this game! This was made by devs from one of the failed/scam ones if I remember who left due to that game and its owner and made this so I can give them some patience with this tbh.

@@rtorbs Feel like I should clarify, this is being made by former devs of Dead Matter in their spare time, when I said patience I meant more to give them a chance, they have already done more than dead matter in that time and also not had any funding or backing so they are worth a watch to see what happens.

I’d really like to see a zombie game where, if you’re bitten/infected and you “turn,” you then get to play AS a zombie.
I design board games, and back ~15 years ago I made a zombie survival style game. It was probably my favorite game that I made (but I only ever distributed it to a handful of friends).
At its core it was a simple move around the board/ find shelter/ fight zombies/ get to extraction point game… but if people wanted they could get more involved in deeper, RPG-levels of detail, with tons of choice available to the players - especially in regards to deciding whether to work together cooperatively, or get competitive, or even blend the two and betray/turn on one another, etc. But I made sure to include the ability to stay on the board after you got infected, and then you chase around the remaining players, because I felt that was an important thing to bring to the genre.
Remake it on Tabletop Simulator, if you have it. You could end up with a wide audience that way, as people spread the game via word of mouth. I'd be down to try it, certainly.

Yes. Adding a delay to each and every action (progress bar) was not the greatest idea. I know in real life it takes 1 second to open a cupboard's door, but it wasn't necessary to reflect it in the game...
Also the reviewer is extremely slow and quite... "confused". Took him forever to drive a car among other things.
Apart from that, the game seems to have potential, but I would say it needs extra work.

1. Good base building ( not limited to buildables and can fortify a building)
2. Can horde and display stuff
3. Can pick up random stuff and display it at the base.
4. All furniture and stuff can be picked up

Games like PZ are absolutely perfect. Im so sick of them putting ao much into the graphics that every other factor is lacking.
Games are supposed to look animated they arent suppose to look real idgaf about how real the game looks. But when you gotta go thru a house and dig thru the cabinets for supplies, thats top notch detailing to me.
I miss when games were games. Not cinematic playable cut scenes. Thats what a lot of games are today unfortunately.

@@eddb0i Well, these are Devs who worked on Dead Matter, which was a majorly ambitious idea, but the team or lead (or both) were far too incompetent to pull it off. So this is pretty close to that game, may have a few differences here and there, but same idea. Whether these guys are actually competent enough to pull this off is kinda beyond me, because I don't really know who was at fault for that last projects failure. But this is free, so no one's getting scammed out of any money here.

I had an absolute blast discovering I could just drive and drive and drive!! One of my favorite game moments ever was the original Mafia, discovering you could drive out into the country for miles!! The developers didn’t have to put all of that content into the game, but they did!

People are trying to compare this directly to PZ and talking about how more advanced PZ is, PZ has been available on steam for 11 years, this game about a month or so, and that's not including development time pre-steam. It's very impressive where they are now, just imagine where this game could be in 11 years.

Admittedly I’m a sucker for these uploads comparing them to project zomboid. I bought the game years ago and have never been able to get a grip on the UI and controls. I’m a console and mobile game player because of a busy life with kids. I do play a few pc games, but the learning curve was just infuriating 😭 Ever since though, I’ve been looking for a similar game in any form that’s easier to “pick up and play”.
They seem better until you see it in action and then rather play zomboid.

I found the combat controls to be infuriating. I couldn't get the character to do what I wanted because the control for movement and attack was so wonky.
