Fireflies are amazing to see in person. I moved to illinois for a few years and I first saw them there. It was very enchanting to see them flying around every year. They do pretty much look like the picture
wOaH Europe doesn't have fireflies?? Culture shock! Summer officially starts on June 21st but for me it starts on the first night I see fireflies come out at dusk, tiny green flashes lighting up in my backyard. If you cup one up in your hands you can see the glow between your fingers, it's quite bright. They're very docile and gentle and their legs tickle as they walk on your palms XD
no no, they exist here too! not in every european country i guess, just somewhere in the central part of europe. my country doesn't have them either though, such a shame to be missing out on these cool bugs 🫠
Hi Jen! Loved this video :) About fireflies** I am originally from Houston and we didn't have any there, but I live in Oklahoma now and there are fireflies here! They actually are super bright, just like the cover of that book. The best way I can describe them is like looking at sparks from welding.
Fireflies are totally that bright! They twinkle as their “lights” go on and off. So interesting that they are not present in the UK, I’m from the Midwest (USA) and they are abundant, especially during the summer. Great video!!
As one of the French viewers… I absolutely love when there’s one and I feel like it’s nice to have it as a “special treat”. Having one once in a while is pretty cool and refreshing! And if you’ve got ideas of videos in French, go ahead! But also thinking of viewers who don’t speak French, I feel like multiple “concepts” in French would be a lot. It’s really up to you in the end!
The Shadow and Bone trilogy is good fun. And the Netflix show I also enjoyed. But, I would recommend reading the whole trilogy, plus the Six of Crows duology, before you watch, as the show mashes together some of the characters. The duology books are very good IMO, in comparison to the first trilogy.
Ooh, I'm really happy to hear that you enjoyed it, that means I chose well! Thanks for the tip about the duology, I wouldn't have known that, I'll try and read it all before watching 😊
I love fireflies. We also call them lightning bugs. It's so cool to see a bunch of them in the grass or flying around in the summer. We used to go out at night and try to catch them. We put one in a mason jar and brought it inside. I freaked out in the morning when I saw it because they definitely aren't pretty in the daytime.
The Great Alone started me on a Kristin Hannah spree as well. I enjoyed this one. Some are better than others but they are all easy reads. Jen your tapping is the best there is! Love a book haul. Happy reading :)
This is going to be so relaxing, I'm really loving your videos and sometimes just play them in the background while I do stuff like studying, cleaning or even while I'm on the train! It's also just great to lie down and watch 💗 I also love the concept of sleepy cardboard sounds, it's cute and original! 💗
Fireflies are real 💫 we also call them lightning bugs. They do light up bright, but it only lasts a moment, which is why trying to catch them in a Mason jar is challenging for kids. They are super fun. Lots of my summer night memories in upstate New York involve fireflies! 🥰
American here, from Texas and I live in a big city, but I've been to my share of ranches as well as trailer parks. I like to read books about other countries too because im so curious! I read a lot of British authors, or novels based in other countries. Made laugh when you said that about reading novels based over here.
Wow, hearing about your struggle to get into French novels at night is so fascinating! I sadly only speak English so I can’t imagine what that’s like. I truly aspire to be like you one day and be able to be bilingual.
I was waiting for this follow up on Kristin Hannah because I knew you’d love it. I haven’t read this one but The Nightingale is one of the best books I’ve ever read so I knew this had to be good! You have to read The Nightingale next 🙏🏼
I’d never seen a hamster until I visited Europe in 2017 - they’re illegal in Australia lol. I also second never seeing a firefly before. It’s so interesting to experience/read about how different each country is. Love the book tapping🥰
I totally understand what you mean with reading in a different language! I read Harry Potter in Polish many years ago and it felt clunky to me, as if they'd popped it through Google translate almost (I'm sure they didn't) I am currently into non-fiction books. Reading written in bone by Sue Black.
I lived up north when I was a kid we always caught fire flys in the backyard in masin jars. They do light up pretty bright now that I live in Florida I see a couple here there in the summer.
Loved this! I live in the USA and had not heard of Kristin Hannah but am interested in her books now (thanks to you) and I will read some now! I have just been reading Harry Potter on repeat 😊
Please be aware of winter garden. Especially as a mother I was hysterical crying BUT it was fantastic lol I highly recommend but maybe only if you feel like being sad if that makes sense lol love Kristen Hannah and your videos!
I get what you mean with the Kristin Hannah book covers 😂 stock photo-like and not the most unique titles but i guess sometimes it is good to look past ‘the cover’ hahahah
I got my grandma the four winds book by her. And idk if she loved it or not. She had read another book of hers and decided she liked it.( I don’t remember the name of it) decided not to get her anymore. She’s more into Debbie McComber and Danielle Steel. I laugh a little when I see My name spelled with an “in”instead of an “en”….. love your videos watch them regliously.❤️❤️
I will have to get you a short video or some pictures of when the lightning bugs (or also called fire flies depending on where in the US you live), when their shiny, tiny rear ends appear again here in Northeast Pennsylvania. Usually about the 2nd or 3rd week of June they start lighting up. And yes, if you are in the rural areas like I am, as it gets dark and you look out over the land you see bright dots that intermittently light up. They keep flickering all about for several hours each night. You seem a bit of a romantic personality, so I think you would love them! French is also my second language. I was never emersed in it like you are by living in a French speaking area, but studied it formally for about 10 years and have continued over the next 20 keeping up with it by reading French news articles and a few books on and off. I have trouble enjoying it as well. While I can comprehend the words and understand the story, I find myself wanting to double check verb tenses, checking for "slang" usages etc. There is very little similar between French and English except the alphabet. Structure, verbs etc are very different. It lacks the easy flow like when I read in English. If I have been reading quite a bit of French in the past week, I will often find myself in the midst of a dream with people speaking French or reading French. My recollection of the dreams later on don't stick in my mind with that same "choppiness". I wonder if those who speak French let's say as a first language experience that if they have Spanish or Italian as a 2nd language given their grammatically similar Romance language characteristics find their 2nd language to flow easier? I don't know. Anyway, I agree on the book reading in French with you! God Bless 🥰
Loving this video! Agree about the cheesy covers, doesn't seem relatable as someone from Britain. Firefly Lane is also on netflix, I didnt see all of it but interested how the book is written, I think it will be a good read.
It's so funny, I feel like the UK covers of American books are always so cheesy and silly (especially thrillers!). I totally agree that Kristin Hannah needs some marketing help on her titles though 😅 amazing ASMR by the way, as always!!!
I've heard some great things about The Nightingale! Also, I'm making my way through the Shadow and Bone series and it's a little harder than I expected it to be after watching the series. But the show was really good! I'm also excited to read the Six of Crows duology because it supposedly amazing!
Hi jen I absolutely love your videos. Best channel I've stumbled across. I would love to send you a a gift full of goodies from the UK maybe you could unbox it?
Ok, so if Kristen Hannah's book "Firefly Lane" is related to the netflix show I must say that it is the most saccharine piece of melodramatic garbage I have ever had the displeasure of viewing in my life. Highly do not recommend.
Fireflies are amazing to see in person. I moved to illinois for a few years and I first saw them there. It was very enchanting to see them flying around every year. They do pretty much look like the picture
I adore your book hauls! Books have to be my favorite trigger for tingles :)

Love going through the books with you! Your whisper is always 🤌 and makes me so sleepy! I would love a video like this but all whispered.
Thank you for another book haul, Jen! I just love your book tapping and scratching 😍 So tingly!
Greetings from Germany 🥰

I get so excited when you post!! Just the best and most relaxing vibes ever. Thank you for your content 💜💜
Love all the paper sounds!
The books, comic books, and board game videos are my all time fav :)
Would love to see an English and French mix of the Magazine video.Love your accent and your voice is so calming.
Firefly Lane is on Netflix. Such a great show,
so the book will be even better.
I was waiting for this follow up on Kristin Hannah because I knew you’d love it. I haven’t read this one but The Nightingale is one of the best books I’ve ever read so I knew this had to be good! You have to read The Nightingale next 🙏🏼
And yes, fireflies are that bright! 🤩
47:08 if it were me, I'd picked mixed between French and English. Tracing, page flipping and tapping. That would be my pick😘
Btw Firefly lane has been adapted to a show on Netflix. It was a good watch!
I’d never seen a hamster until I visited Europe in 2017 - they’re illegal in Australia lol. I also second never seeing a firefly before. It’s so interesting to experience/read about how different each country is. Love the book tapping🥰
Please do the english version of flipping through magazines!!!! That is my favorite❤️
Where did you get your book light from? I've been looking for one of those for ages.
I totally understand what you mean with reading in a different language! I read Harry Potter in Polish many years ago and it felt clunky to me, as if they'd popped it through Google translate almost (I'm sure they didn't)

Lightning bugs (fireflies) do look that bright but more green. You should totally TH-cam a video of them. They’re gorgeous bugs when lighting up.
Treasure island was a rough one to get through. But I loved gatsby! Also loved the handmaids tale.
Please do a review on the Kristen Hannah books that you’ve read so far !
Please be aware of winter garden. Especially as a mother I was hysterical crying BUT it was fantastic lol I highly recommend but maybe only if you feel like being sad if that makes sense lol love Kristen Hannah and your videos!

The Nightingale is a wonderful book! Enjoy!
Kristin Hannah is an enjoyable author. Some of her novels are better than others. But in my opinion The Great Alone is her best❤🇨🇦
Loving this video! Agree about the cheesy covers, doesn't seem relatable as someone from Britain. Firefly Lane is also on netflix, I didnt see all of it but interested how the book is written, I think it will be a good read.
I collect hardcover classics just like that. What site did you get those? Amazon?
OMG I have a friend who lives on Manitoulin Island! It seems like a wonderful place that I hope to visit someday haha.
so relaxing 😊
The nightingale is beautiful
A caravan park is not equivalent to a trailer park, an American would call that an RV park.
Hi Jan! You have to come to Italy then! There's A LOT of fireflies here 🥰
It's so funny, I feel like the UK covers of American books are always so cheesy and silly (especially thrillers!). I totally agree that Kristin Hannah needs some marketing help on her titles though 😅 amazing ASMR by the way, as always!!!

Well, I'm trying to pack and stay awake but I prefer to listen to ASMR over music. Well, wish me luck to stay awake loll
There was a trailer park in harry potter deathly hollows part 1,it didn't look as if retired wealthy people lived there
Hi jen I absolutely love your videos. Best channel I've stumbled across. I would love to send you a a gift full of goodies from the UK maybe you could unbox it?
Well…. Guess it’s time for a nap

Je suis pour les mixed languages
Treasure island was my favorite book as a kid.
