If you play non Nintendo mobile games, I highly suggest trying Cookie Run Kingdom and/or Cookie Run OvenBreak, both games are amazing!

Jumping and falling off ledges resets your speed, so if you wanna go fast down a ramp, it's best to go in a straight light and not jump.

I think the reason you were unable to beat the online competition's final part was the fact that you kept chasing the other Kirby players, which in turn, allowed them to chase for the strawberries as you lagged behind for the most part of the chase... at least, that's how it looked like.
