The Canadian Arabic Orchestra - Oum Kalthoum Medley - ميدلي أم كلثوم

Black and White is a performance that captures some of the most famous faces of the golden age of Arabic cinema, and their most famous songs from their films. This concert was first performed as part of the Festival of Arabic Music and Arts (FAMA 2021) at Hammerson Hall in Mississauga on Friday, November 19, 2021.
Known as the Star of the East, Oum Kalthoum’s voice has gained acclaim across the world and across different musical cultures and genres for its power, uniqueness, and stamina. Originally a girl from a small village in rural Egypt, Oum Kalthoum quickly rose to stardom once her voice was discovered, and her early career involved several successful movies that were defined by the songs she had performed. Despite the successes of her films, Oum Kalthoum always preferred the stage over the camera, which is why her film career spanned only 6 movies across 10 years.
أسود وأبيض يسلط الضوء على أشهر ممثلي العصر الذهبي في السينما العربية، وأشهر أغانيهم التي قدموها في أفلامهم. تم أداء هذا العرض لأول مرة في قاعة هامرسون في ميسيساغا، يوم الجمعة 19 نوفمبر 2021 ضمن مهرجان فاما.
كوكب الشرق لها شهرة خارقة تعلو عن أنماط أو ألوان موسيقية معينة. نشأت أم كلثوم في قرية صغيرة في مصر، وعندما تم إكتشاف صوتها، انطلقت إلى الشهرة، وتضمنت أول أيامها على قمة العالم الفني العربي إنتاج فيلمي بسيط. لكن فضلت الست المسرح عن الشاشة دائماً، لذلك ظهرت في 6 أفلام فقط في فترة 10 سنين.
