I love musical theatre but i had never heard this before. It's so special to see Floor and Henk work together again. They come from different backgrounds but they sing so well together.
They weren't even in the same country while practicing and recording this. But they're both incredible vocalists and true professional so distance doesn't make much difference for them. Even though I'd love to see a retake when they're in the same space and can play off each other as that brings an extra layer of awesomeness 🌞

I miss the reactions to Floor Jansen so this was a nice change
I've seen Henk perform as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, Anatoly in Chess and as the judge in Sweeney Todd. I love his voice. He's also a very good actor.
I didn't see Chess but did see Phantom and Le Mis and the other two. Agreed, he can act. Us Dutch people were lucky to see all those productions with him!
I saw Henk last month, in the opera Königskinder, in Amsterdam 2022.
That was my first opera, and I really loved it.
I saw this first when RVA reacted to it and was surprisingly impressed by the song, which I had never heard before. You had some good insights into their technique. I think this was recorded separately due to rules around "the 'vid", or maybe just so Henk didn't have to travel(?). They did a good job at selling the song & it was nicely arranged to build the way it did.
You should check out the musical this song is from (Jekyll and Hyde). It's awesome and there are many more awesome songs
Henk has very expressive eyebrows and facial expressions? You mean like someone who has performed in large venue musicals for several decades? :)
You nailed it, G Ork. Of course, Henk had to be expressive and sinister -- he was singing the part of Mr. Hyde!! No place for a calm, controlled Dr. Jekyll here!
This was such a fun duet. The only thing better would have been if they could have been together in the same room like with Phantom.

They're not only not in the same studio, but in different countries. She's in Sweden and he's in The Netherlands and they couldn't get together because of the restrictions. That's why she sent in a recording for the Beste Zanger Eurovision where she sang Euforia and couldn't be there on the couch.

Great performance
Very good as ever. They are very good together, even when they are not together. I'm assuming - from an informed point of view based on Floor's recent performance of Euphoria - that the music was recorded separately, sent to both and individually recorded - and then synced together. Inevitably, you don't quite get that chemistry they had when performing Phantom on Beste Zangers, but both give excellent performances.
What I like about your reviews is that the 'Honest Vocal Coach' title really fits. I saw a reaction of Ghost Love Score recently in which 2 'vocal coaches' were critical on the basis of "I wouldn't do it like that", which was rather pathetic given that Floor's performance is astonishingly good. You, on the other hand, are great at pointing out any issues tempered by the notion that the performer has made a choice, and great singers (as Floor and Hank are), make choices to which there are alternatives. Really appreciate the knowledge you bring (and glad you had fun in Skipton).
I saw that reaction also...Those are restaurant critics who think they can sing...worst reaction I ever saw of GLS...but HVC always delivers the goods....

Even Henk Poort is amezing
They did a really good job together. I definitely prefer this to their first duet.
henk sings in a typical amsterdam jordaan style (jordaan is neighborhood in amsterdam known for most of the old dutch opera /folk singers to be from ) . i am suprised that no one mentions henk s brushed up his the english pronounciation compared to phantom with floor.

the way Henk pronounces 'true' is the typical Dutch way, us dutchies tend to have trouble pronouncing it properly, let alone singing it is my take on it ;-)

You really need to tag down a bit on the pausing. I know the reason, but it's impossible to follow the song if you pause every 10 seconds. Edit: Sorry, less then 10 seconds, just a few seconds a times. :(
I'm critiquing the performance, so whenever I have something to say I automatically pause.
Ok..., she's louder and perfect, without the beginning..., that is not 'live'. Henk cannot (I think) "playbacken" (so we call that in Dutch: sing again with the song you already sang in the studio). I think he, Henk, sings for real. Floor too, accept for the start. Henk catches me with his eyes from the first second and I cannot let him go. Neither his voice. I am an Henk-addict.
And you, please, think about yourself. You look very tired. Let the world go on for a day and sleep.

Oh come on, it's a music video not a live performance. And it was certainly clear that the vocal did not match Floor's mouth movements at that specific time, which G would pick up in a heartbeat. She probably performed her part several times.
