Hi Gem, looks like it was lovely morning 🌅, I love a nice fresh start to the day. Whomever built that manhole clearly did a TERrible job. Don't understand why the gully outlet wasn't even inline with the base causing waste to trap under the edge of the pipe. Or why a swept Y base gully wasn't put in??
Another great job though and great explanation on how you know that the rest of the sewer was clear and it just had a poor fall causing a back flow. I love drains especially when people build things over manholes

I think that common sense goes out of the window sometimes, the amount of times I find manholes built over you would not believe!😖
I bet it had something to do with the boundary line and the neighbour paying for the fence because you wouldn't have someone do that in your own garden
It’s more to do with why a drain is put there instead of the fence put there because moving the boundary line is harder work than moving a drain.
@@Nicole-IH I've come up against it a few times and it was the people who had the manhole in their property that thought it was fine to build over a manhole in various ways I have come up against! Like a raised retaining wall, concrete gravel board, paving over not using manhole lids that accept paving/blocks or classic is placing a shed on top. I've seen it all

@9:40 I'm not being a smart ass. However, as a former journeyman plumber 30 decades ago. Why, just why, when you were there put a bit of effort to look at that gully? It would take just a few minutes of your time to do so. I'm not finding fault, and have been a subscriber for over a year now, however.. you could have a least looked. BTW Happy New Year, and looking forward to many other jetting videos.
